Carnivorous Plants!
YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS!
Did you know that there are hundreds of species of carnivorous plants that eat insects and other tiny
organisms for nutrition? You may have wanted to try growing carnivorous plants but could not find a
source. Perhaps you were afraid they might be too difficult.

Come on out to discover facts about these unusual plants. Don’t worry, there won’t be any Seymours-
the imaginary man-eaters out of “Little Shop of Horrors.”

Join Josh Alcoba, owner of Jersey Devil Carnivorous Plants as he explores the world of Venus Fly Traps,
Sundews, Bladderworts, Butterworts, & Pitcher Plants. He will touch on the history and biology of
carnivorous plants from around the globe, the hobby today, plant care, concerns over poaching and
endangered species, and conservation efforts. There will also be live demonstrations and plants for sale.

Hosted by the Sandpiper Orchid Society
