Fuels: A fuel is any compound which has
stored energy. Combustion is burning a fuel
in oxygen, which gives out heat energy and
is called an exothermic reaction. Our main
source of fuel is from fossil fuels
Solid Fuels: Solid Fuel refers to
various types of solid material that are used
to produce energy and provide heating,
released through combustion. Solid Fuels
include, anthracite, coal, long lasting ovals,
coke, peat, charcoal, firewood and wood
pellets
Liquid Fuels: The most important
liquid fuels are crude petroleum, and
various oily residues obtained in distilling
petroleum, shale oil and coal tar. Crude
petroleum and the residuum from the
manufacture of burning oils and lubricators,
are the chief sources in this country
Gaseous Fuels: Gaseous fuel means
a material that is in the gaseous state at
standard atmospheric temperature and
pressure conditions and that is combusted
to produce heat and/or energy.

Uses of fuels In
Daily Life:
 Gasoline - Essential for Transportation
 Natural Gas - Heating and Cooking
 Coal - Electric Power
 Alcohol - Gasoline Helper
 Uranium - Carbon-Free Power
