COURSE D ESCRIPTION
This is a prerequisite course designed to acquaint students with the college and the PE department’s philosophy, mission, objectives and
principals involved in training the body as “the living temple of God”, and to develop the positive attitude toward exercise for the improvement
and maintenance of health and fitness.

COURSE O UTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should have been able to:

encouraging them to join in the final presentation of the exercise activity.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

1. Participation (30%)— Active participation in all activities is expected, both synchronous and asynchronous.
2. Assignment/quizzes/seatwork (30%)— Quizzes will be posted in iStudy while submission of assignments and class works will be in MS
Teams (general-files-folder). Late submission (one week after due date) will be given deductions.
3. Periodic examinations (15%)—Examinations include midterm and final. These exams will be taken through iStudy portal.
4. Final Performance (25%)— Examinations include your prelims, midterms, pre-finals, and finals. These examinations will be taken through
the iStudy portal. Your final requirement which will be equivalent to your final exam for this course will be a performance of the aerobic
exercise. The student is expected to perform the aerobic exercise with at least 1 member of the family (more will be better) to promote the
importance of exercise and improve quality of life. It is important to ensure that the family members invited don’t have any health problem.
Everyone is encouraged to develop patience and teamwork from the practices up to the final performance.

For grading reference, check the rubric that was uploaded in MS Teams. Make sure that the videos for performance are not edited just to
comply with the requirements. The Instructor would love to see honesty in the final output. Wearing of proper attire (sports attire) during
the documentation of performance is a must to be given credit.

CONTINGENCY PLAN FOR MISSED CLASSES: You and the teacher will always be in constant communication in case loss of connection, power outages, or unavoidable
circumstances that cause the missing of important video conferences will happen. Your class should come into agreement to address missed classes as promptly as
possible.

BEHAVIORAL E XPECTATIONS

1. Netiquette. Since most of our activities will be online, you are expected to practice netiquette in all situations. Be guided with the following:
a. During video conferences (MS Teams),
i. wear proper attire, strictly no sleeveless or sando.
ii. make sure to mute your microphone and unmute only when being asked to talk and when sharing of ideas regarding lessons.
iii. make sure you address your teacher and classmates properly during online forums and video conferences.
iv. ask permission before recording video conferences.
b. Avoid placing unacceptable photos as your profile picture, including in your iStudy profile.
c. Send messages in a professional, courteous manner in chatrooms (MS Teams) and in e-mails.
d. Use sentence cases rather than all capitals when communicating.
2. Proactivity. You are expected to be proactive while engaging in synchronous and asynchronous modes of learning online. Engagement and
participation in the online portal, or activities in MS Teams, will be regularly checked. The instructor will communicate with you through MS
Teams chatbox.
3. Punctuality. You will be expected to send in requirements promptly through the MS Teams (folders). Reasonable time will be given for your
work, but late work of more than 1 week will already be given deductions.
4. Consultations. You are expected to consult with the teacher during the synchronous meeting or scheduled consultation period every week
through MS Teams chatbox.
