1. Developments in transportations
Elaboration It has increased travelling speed as well as the capacity for more people
and goods to be transported from one country to another. Time needed to
get from one country to another has decreased with the improvements of
the size and speed of transportation and the development of efficient and
integrated transportation infrastructure.
Example For example, air transportation has developed from the first engined plane
which could only accommodate one person to the Airbus 380 which is the
largest commercial passenger plane which can accommodate 800
passengers and moves at a faster speed. Integrated transportation
infrastructure such as airports, seaports, expressways and railways also
helps to facilitate the movement of goods and people from one country to
another. For example, the causeway connecting Singapore to Malaysia
allows for goods and people to move between countries easily.
Link Hence, with the development of transportation, more people travel across
the globe more frequently. As contact between people from different
countries become more frequent, activities and ideas become more
interconnected, resulting in greater interconnectedness and integration
among countries

2. Growth of MNCs
Elaboration When MNCs have operations around the world it leads to greater
interconnections between people and goods all over the world.
Example For instance, Starbucks Coffee Company is the largest coffee chain in the
world today with operations spanning over 65 countries. Coffee beans are
sourced from countries in North and South America, Africa and Asia. These
beans are then transported to roasting facilities in different cities in the US
and India. They are then delivered to thousands of countries all over the
world and enjoyed by consumers in these countries.
Link Hence, the global operations of MNCs will allow economic ties to be
developed between people across the world as people in different countries
work under the same company would interact with one another, leading to
collaborations among different groups of people across the world. MNCs
and local institutions also have interdependent relationships as they rely on
one another’s strengths and expertise to keep the business going.
3. Advancement in technology
Example For example with the invention of the smartphone at the beginning of the
21st century, mobile phones are equipped with advanced computing
capabilities and are no longer limited to making voice calls. For examples
smartphones like Samsung Galaxy and Apple iphone are wifi enabled and
are able to make video calls and stream videos through mobile applications.
