INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Please prepare the suitable justifications, refer to the scenario of the


question.
2. Work in groups of 3 – 4 members.
3. Writing must use TIMES NEW ROMAN, 12-point font and 1.5 spacing.
4. Cover page of the writing should have the assessment’s title, group
members’ name and matric numbers.
5. All information taken from the articles must be paraphrased or summarized
with proper citation.
6. Deadline will be in Week 13. Submission after the date will NOT be
accepted.
7. Each group will be assessed/evaluated accordingly using the attached
rubric – Cluster 3b rubric – Written Communication.
SCENARIO

CLO2 After completed the school’s study, Mary Jane was further her studies
C3 to one of the famous universities at north area. Now, Mary Jane is graduate
specialized in accounting field. She had a Degree in Accounting from
Malaysia North University. She was considered dependable, accurate and
intelligent. Her lecturers generally had a positive view of her.
Mary Jane has just been hired as an Accounting Executive in MOON
Company. The MOON Company is one of the well-established frozen food
company in Malaysia. It is the first company for her career. Therefore, she did
not have any hands-on experience or skills in this field. However, she indicated
that since she had no experience, she did not feel that she could reject this
position. She confident that she can do well since she has specialized
knowledge in accounting field. Therefore, it is important for Human Resources
department to ensure their employees know how to do the tasks and retain
staffs in MOON Company.
Meanwhile, one of the staff, Encik Ahmad has promoted as a sales
manager. As a manager, he has duties and responsibilities to make decision
for certain situations. Manager must make several types of decisions under
different conditions. He faced some complaints from customers regarding to
the products. Sometimes, the problems need to be solved by using strategy
on how to allocate resources efficiently, what needs to be done to products
that fail in the market and how to increase the efficiency of the customer
service department. Some decisions cannot be made by Encik Ahmad
himself, but he needs to refer with Chief Executive Officer or Managing
Director. For certain situation, Encik Ahmad needs to involve teams or group
in the organization in making important decisions that may shape the future
his department or organization. As a result, Encik Ahmad needs approaches
to improve group decision making to discuss about customer trends and ideas
to increase the sales.

Based on scenario given, answer the following:

1. Write the evaluation and testing in the selection process that are suitable
for new candidates.

2. Based on the statement in the article:


“It is the first company for her career. Therefore, she did not have any
hands-on experience or skills in this field.”
Apply the skills that should be covered in the training program.
3. The statement mentioned in the above article that “It is important for
Human Resources department to ensure their employees know how to do
the tasks and retain staffs in MOON Company.”
Write suitable methods that can be used by MOON Company to retain
their staff.

4. Based on article, there are two types of decisions suffered by Encik Ahmad
as a Sales Manager. Acquire the types of decisions made by Encik Ahmad
and his Chief Executive Officer or Managing Director with the suitable
problems given in the article.

5. By referring to the above article state that “Encik Ahmad needs


approaches to improve group decision making to discuss about customer
trends and ideas to increase the sales.”
Allocate the ways to improve group decision making to increase sales of
the frozen foods produce by MOON Company.
