Reflection on the common problems that Caregiver encounters in Caring Client's Environment

Clean Environment plays a huge role in the overall safety of the client, it is only right that home
caregivers should always keep this in mind and do our best to be of assistance. Our goal is to be able to
understand the job, establish an individual work plan with the client and his family, and to be able to
demonstrate the correct procedures for basic household cleaning tasks. I know that these are easier said
than done, and so problems may arise along the way.

It is often difficult for families to realize what is important in keeping a house clean and that the
homemaker/aide is not there to perform all the housekeeping tasks, so it is really important that we,
caregivers, have done preparations beforehand, once we have received the assignments and client's
care plan. We have to make sure that tasks are related to the personal and therapeutic care of the client
and to be able to give proper assignments to the family members who can provide assistance in lieu of
us when we are no longer there.

I also think that trust and patience also plays a huge role here, as we must earn their trust so we
can have a sound environment, besides we are only for the betterment of the patient, and so we need
their utmost cooperation. And Patience for there are times that there are things that we can't really
enforce and that they are still the ones to decide as they are the family. We must learn to respect and
understand and discuss these matters to our supervisor.
