GENERAL RULES
▪80% Attendance is mandatory! Otherwise, you will receive DX grade
▪Bring your own calculator to the class.
▪Bring a printed copy of IS 456 code (and SP16 once design starts) and calculator
to all lectures and tutorials.
▪Tutorial problems should be solved during the class and validated for completion of
the tutorial. If you do not do the same at the end of tutorial, your attendance will
not be counted.
▪There will be a group design project, the problem statement for which will be
shared with you in the first few weeks of the course. You will work in teams of 2 or
3 and will have to sign up for the same. There will be some intermediate submissions
and final report and presentation that will be expected from each group. Use of
Excel, analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS etc. will be encouraged for the
project and sufficient resources will be provided for the same.
