2. Introduction

2.6  Software Naming

ATRONIC game software always comes as a software set. A
C-level software set of version C5.x.x.x. consists of 7 game
EPROMs, 1 multimedia CD, 1 BIOS EPROM and 1 security de-
vice. Game software is available in different Bet/Line versions
and progressive modes (Standalone, Cashfever™, SAS progres-
sive, etc.).

Important: Never mix software sets or use any

software combinations that are not approved by
ATRONIC.
For example only

Each part of a software set is labeled according to this scheme.

When the machine is operating, the software versions can be
reviewed by entering the Service Menu or the Audit Menu.
The folder "Machine Information / General Machine Settings"
lists the EPROM versions.

ATRONIC game EPROMs do always come with an ATRONIC

seal label that lists part number, socket, chip type, naming,
checksum and Kobetron value. Removing this label will void
the EPROM. ATRONIC game EPROMs come as a one-time-pro-
grammable (OTP-ROM) type.

2.7  Basic Setup - Overview
The following sections describe how to carry out the RAM Re-
set and the Initial Setup which are required to configure basic
machine settings and to carry out jackpot configuration.

2.7.1  General

ATRONIC machines usually come configured as specified dur-

ing order processing. However it might be necessary to recon-
figure basic machine settings, such as denomination, meter-
ing, paytable, etc. These settings can not be altered during
normal operation, as they require a machine reinitialisation for
technical or jurisdictional reasons. Applying new progressive
jackpot settings also requires a RAM Reset.

To reconfigure basic machine and jackpot settings:

1. Configure the Commboard Note: Find more detailed information

cluding progressive jackpot configuration.

3. Carry out the Initial Setup

After a RAM Reset the machine automatically enters the
Initial Setup menu. The Initial Setup allows to configure all
basic machine setting.

4. Carry out (Progressive) Jackpot Configuration

A PC or notebook with ATRONIC's Alink Config software is
connected to the gaming machine and uploads the pro-
gressive jackpot configuration data.
In an ATRONIC Progressive Link™ (APL) the jackpot con-
figuration has to be carried out at the APL master machine
only. The jackpot configuration data is then transfered to
all linked APL slave machines.

Important: It is necessary to carry out the pro-
gressive jackpot configuration directly after the
Initial Setup. Do not insert credits before the jack-
pot configuration data is uploaded.

This section explains all Initial Setup menu pages in detail.
Depending on machine configuration, not all menus are dis-
played.

4.2.1  Touch Screen Calibration

Touch the two yellow dots displayed on screen. The controller

uses the data perceived immediately before you lift off your
finger to register a calibration touch. Therefore, you can touch
the screen, move your finger to the target, hold for a second,
and then lift your finger off. This method results in a more ac-
curate calibration.

4.2.2  Cabinet Configuration

Select the cabinet type of the machine.

• e-motion™ and e™ machines feature two displays and an

adjustable playfield.
• Harmony™ machines feature one display.

4.2.3  Date and Time

Set date and time in this menu.

Note: Date and time can also be set later using SAS poll 7F (if ap-
plicable) or in the Service Menu.

4.2.4  Jurisdiction

4.2.17 Accounting Denomination

This setting defines the base denomination for accounting

and metering.
• Credit values sent to an accounting system use this de-
nomination (e.g. SAS accounting polls).
• Mechanical meters use this denomination for metering,
if they are configured to count credits. See also section
"4.2.24 Mechanical Meters Setup".

The Accounting Denomination is always a common divider of

the Player Denominations.

Note: It is recommended to set the accounting denomination to

0,01 units.

4.2.18  Coin/Token Denomination

Defines the value (in currency) of one coin or token.

The token denomination has to be a (integer) multiplier of the

accounting denomination.

4.2.19  Tokenisation String

Defines the tokenisation string that is displayed on screen. For

example “1 € buys 10 credits”. Available only if the machine is
tokenized. If Coin/Token Denomination = Player Denomina-
tion, the tokenisation string is not displayed.

Token String and Token Unit are added automatically. Use the
SET buttons to enter new strings manually, if necessary. Set
the Token String Position to trailing (european style) or lead-
ing (american style).

4.2.20  NRI-G13 Type (only with G-13 installed)

This menu defines the coin handling for NRI G-13.mft coin ac-
ceptors. It is assumed that only one type of coin shall be ac-
cepted and that all other coin types are disabled by means of
the acceptor DIP switches or the acceptor programming.

Note: NRI G-13.mft acceptors for ATRONIC EGMs use a special

programming. Do not use other programmings as this may lead
to malfunction.

NRI G-13 acceptors are avaiable in two versions (see acceptor

label):

• "06C" = (Casino version / FAST programmed)

-> select FAST (singlechannel) mode.

• "06V" = (Validator version / SLOW programmed)

-> select SLOW (multichannel) mode.

4.2.21  G13 Channels (only with G13 type SLOW)

Handling of Handpay Limit and Celebration Limit

This section gives an overview how to use the settings Hand-
pay Limit and Celebration Limit which are described in detail
on the following pages.

• Handpay Limit
The handpay limit determines the threshold for jackpot
handpays.

4. Initial Setup / Initial Setup Procedure

4.2.41 Handpay Limit

The setting Handpay Limit determines the threshold for jack-
pot handpays.

• A win that equals or exceeds this limit initiates a jackpot

handpay. The machine locks and displays a jackpot pre-
sentation. An attendant has to carry out a handpay and
acknowledge it by turning the Jackpot Key.

• Win amouts below the Handpay Limit are payed directly

to the credit meter or as configured by means of the cel-
ebration limit, if applicable.

Important: A top award win combination (5x top

symbol) or a progressive win does not automati-
cally initiate a handpay!
The win amount has to equal or exceed the ad-
justed Handpay Limit, in order to initiate a jackpot
handpay.

The Handpay Limit can be activated/deactivated and adjusted Note: When the handpay limit is set,
separately for different types of wins the celebration limit (next page) is
adjusted to the same value automati-
• paytable wins cally, because the celebration limit can
• progressive wins not be higher than the handpay limit.
• total game wins (does not include bonus)
• external bonus wins

Operators may adjust the limits in accordance with casino re- Note: In certain jurisdictions (e.g. US
quirements. jurisdictions), the handpay limit is not
adjustable and set to a fixed value.
Note: You can also adjust the Handpay Limit later in the "Service
Menu / Settings / Game / Limit Settings" menu.

Software / Basic Setup - C5.1.2 45

4. Initial Setup / Initial Setup Procedure

4.2.42  Celebration Limit

The Celebration Limit allows operators to configure an addi-

tional limit with selectable payout destination.

• A win that equals or exceeds the adjusted celebration limit

locks the machine and starts a presentation. An attendant
must acknowledge the win by turning the jackpot key. The
win amount is then paid out to the selected destination
(handpay, voucher, host, credit meter), if applicable.

The celebration limit can be activated and adjusted separately Note: The celebration limit can not be
for different types of wins higher than the handpay limit. When
a handpay limit was set, you can not
• paytable wins
adjust the celebration limit to values
• progressive wins
higher than the handpay limit.
• total game wins (does not include bonus)
• external bonus wins

Destination set to Handpay:

• If set to Handpay, the celebration limit acts like the hand-

pay limit. Wins that are equal to or exceed the adjusted
limit are handled and metered as jackpot handpays (see
previous page).

Destination set to Voucher, Host or Credit Meter:

Important: Before acknowledging celebrational

wins, attendants have to make sure which is the
actual payout device and whether a handpay is
necessary. The payout device is stated on screen
(alternating with the win amount).

• Celebration limit wins actually paid out by voucher, to host

or to the credit meter, are not metered as jackpot hand-
pays.
Celebration limit presentation with payout device
message.
• To allow celebration limit payouts by voucher, to host or to
the credit meter, the host system has to support SAS poll
A8 (enable jackpot handpay reset method). If poll A8 is not
send by the host, a jackpot handpay is initiated instead.

• If the host sends SAS poll A8, but the payout by Voucher or
to Host fails for other reasons, the win amount is booked
to the credit meter instead.

Note: You can also adjust the celebration limit later in the "Ser-
vice Menu / Settings / Game / Limit Settings" menu.

3.4.2 Progressive Split Information

This menu displays the distribution of progressive increments
in a multilevel progressive game, when using APL2 (ATRONIC
Progressive Link 2).

With APL2 enabled a progressive level can only raise up to the

base value of the next higher progressive level. If a progres-
sive level reaches this limit, the incrementing of this level is
blocked. The increments of the blocked level are then redis-
tributed to the lowest possible progressive level.

Example: The progressive value on level 3 reaches the base value Note: The base value of a progressive

nation is metered in a seperate split statistic Split 0 to Split

distribution of increments for this split. Split 0 (all levels incre-

configuration.
