There is + a/an + Dt số ít đếm được…..

VD: There is an eraser in my pencil case.

There is + đại từ chỉ lượng + dt không đếm được…..

VD There is a lot of milk in the fridge.

There are + số lượng/ đại từ chỉ lượng + danh từ số nhiều

VD: There are 2/some/ a lot of oranges in the box.

CHÚ Ý:
Nếu danh từ đầu tiên của chuỗi liệt kê là danh từ số ít thì ta dùng cấu trúc ‘There is’

Ex: There is a pen, a ruler and a book on the table.

(Có một cái bút, một cái thước kẻ và một quyển sách trên bàn)

Khi danh từ của chuỗi liệt kê bắt đầu bằng danh từ số nhiều thì dùng cấu trúc ‘There are’
Ex: There are two oranges, four bananas and a cake in the fridge.

(Có 2 quả cam, 4 quả chuối và 1 cái bánh trong tủ lạnh)
