MY SPECIAL APPLE PIE

What are the steps in making an apple pie?

ingredients:

6 cups sliced apples (about 6 medium apples)

3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 egg & 1 tablespoon water
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Peel and slice the apples into thin pieces. You can use a sharp knife or an
apple slicer/corer.
Mix the sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Add the sliced apples to the mixing bowl and stir until the apples are
coated with the mixture.
Pour the apple mixture into the unbaked pie crust and dot the top with
small pieces of butter.
In a small bowl, beat the mix of the egg and water egg wash.
Brush the edges of the pie crust with the egg wash to help seal the pie.
Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until
the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 30 minutes
before serving.
Enjoy your delicious homemade apple pie!
