The Empower will be shown in photos. This document provides site survey instructions and the site survey check list for the Empower injector System. In addition, the document provides installation instructions for mounting of the Ceiling Column, Wall Mount for the Articulating System, Remote Wall Mount Bracket and Wall Mounted Power Supply Assembly. ‘Through use of this document, the site will be ensured to receive the proper configuration for their installation. 12 MANUAL ORGANIZATION ‘This document is organized into the following sections: Section 1: Introduction Identifies the purpose and organization of this manual, Section 2: Site Survey Contains site survey instructions, the Site Survey Check List Section 3: Site Installation Provides detailed installation instructions Instructions for Injector wall and ceiling installations and Power Supply and Remote Control ‘Wall installations. Site Survey Doc. 018-0913, Item 1476913, Rev B 12 Section 2: Site Survey Empower Injector System Section2: Site Survey 24 PURPOSE The Site Survey is to be used to determine site requirements for the most optimal installation of your Empower Injector System. important! Please complete and submit the Site Survey Check List prior to requesting shipment of the Empower Injector System. 22 GENERAL SITE CONSIDERATIONS: ng considerations must be reviewed prior to installation: Power Requirements - The Empower Injector System requires a standard, hospital grade power source with a grounded receptacle. Line cords compatible with local voltages are provided with the system. A power source with a dedicated circuit is recommended for all E-2-EM Injector systems. Two dedicated receptacles are required for use with the Empower Injector System. The first receptacie is for the power supply assembly and the second receptacle is for the Remote Control. Before installation, take careful note as to where the receptacles are located. ‘These locations may affect the length of cables required of the installation. Power receptacles should be either 120 VACI60 Hz or 240 VAC/50 Hz. Access — Patient access to the gantry (left and right sides) must not be impeded by the Injector system. Cables on the floor are a potential hazard and should not be in the patient or hospital staff access path. Site Survey Dos. 018-0913, Item 1476913, Rev B 2A Section 2: Site Survey Empower Injector System, ‘There are two types of Injector mounting possibilities: Floor Stand and ) Overhead (Ceiling/Wall) Mount. 23 FLOOR STAND The floor stand assembly is comprised of a pole, base with casters, ‘counterweight, and shroud. The Injector and Extravasation Detection Accessory (EDA), are mounted on the pole. Casters on the base facilitate movement and placement of the Injector system throughout the scanner room. Site Survey Doc. 018-0913, liem 1476913, Rev B 22 Section Empower Injector System 24 OVERHEAD (CEILING/WALL) MOUNT ‘The overhead mount assembly is comprised of a ceiling column or wall mount bracket, articulating arm, and Injector mounting arm. The Injector and the Extravasation Detection Accessory (EDA) are mounted on the Injector mounting arm. Prior to installation of the overhead mount assembly, a suitable structure (for ‘example: uni-strut) must be located that will support the load of the Empower Injector System and mount. Facility Engineering or other knowledgeable personnel should be consulted regarding, but not limited to the installation of the wall mount and ceiling mount systems, power supply assembly wall mounted and Remote Control wall mounted. Important! The customer is responsible for the installation of the Injector System Ceiling Mount Column or Wall Mount bracket. Itis recommended that two (2) people perform the installation on the Injector ‘System Ceiling Mount Column. ‘The Customer must provide fasteners and anchors for mounting the Ceiling Mount Column and Wall Mount Bracket: ‘+ Wall mount systems (2) each. ‘+ Ceiling mount systems (4) each. Lengths - Three different column lengths are available $ (11.25"), M (21.50"), and L (34.50") Clearance ~ Once installed, the horizontal member of the Articulating Arm must be able to clear the top of the scanner. Minimum Height The minimum height of the bottom of the Ceiling Mount Column should be 84°(7 feet) from the floor. The bottom of the Injector should be a minimum of 36" (3 feet) off the floor. The minimum height of the bottom of the Wall Mount should be 96" (8 feet) off the floor. The appropriate system and accessories will be sent to the site. Itis the responsibilty of the site to install the Ceiling Column or Wall Mount Bracket for the Articulating Arm, Remote Wail Mount Bracket and to mount the power supply assembly to the wall if required. The use of non-£-Z-EM Cei recommended. 1g Column or Wall mounts is not 32 CEILING MOUNT COLUMN INSTALLATION Install the Ceiling Mount Column as follows: 1, Remove the Ceiling Mount Column from its packaging. Note: Position of the Pivot Shaft (see Fig. 3-1b) is critical to the range of motion (approximately 270 degrees) of the articulating arm. The pivot shaft can be orientated in any position prior to securing the ceiling column to its support structure. Select the pivot shaft orientation such that the resulting range of motion best addresses the operational requirements of the site (See Fig. 4-2). 2. Mark the locations of the holes by using the Ceiling Mount Column drawing (see Figure 4-5). Drill mounting holes at the locations marked. 3, Install the Ceiling Mount Column using the appropriate fasteners and anchors (NOT PROVIDED) (see Figure 3-ta). Ensure that the base of the column is level. Remove the Wall Mount Bracket from its packaging. 2. Unsnap and remove plastic cover (A), plastic housing (B), and plastic plug (C) (see Figure 3-22). 3. Place the Wall Mount Bracket against the surface to which it will be mounted. Mark the location of the holes by using the braoket as a template (see Figure 3-2b, and template in 4-6) 4. Install the Wall Mount Bracket using the appropriate fasteners and anchors (not provided). Replace the plastic covers and plug removed in Step 2, above. Make certain that the bracket is level. 34 REMOTE CONTROL WALL MOUNT BRACKET The Remote Control is typically table mounted in the control room in close. proximity to the scanner console. The Remote Control can also be mounted ‘on the wall In the control room. Location - The Remote Control will usually be connected to the Power Supply by a 20-ft. cable. An optional 50 ft cable is available. Take into ‘consideration the cable routing when locating the Remote Control and the Power Supply. Location of power outlet— The preferred location of the power source is a wall outlet that must be within reach of the Remote Controf's line cord (2meters; approx. 6-ft.). A Wall Mountis provided for wall mounting installations. The Wall Mount consists of the following three parts that require assembly: ‘+ wall mount bracket + main body + top cover To wall mount the Remote Control, install the wall mount bracket as follows: 1. Remove the Wall Mount components from packaging. 2, Select a suitable wall location and do the following: Note: Make careful measurements before making permanent installations. The Remote Control's AC line cord must reach a wall outlet. a. Using the Remote Wall Mount Drawing (see Figure 3-4), mark four hole locations on the wall. Note: If mounting to a masonry or cement wall, use anchors provided. If ‘mounting into any other material, the proper anchors (not supplied) must be utifized and capabie of supporting a minimum of 30 tbs. b. Drill four holes into wall. Hole size is determined by anchor type. Consult anchor manufacturer's literature for recommended size. ©. Before driving in the anchors (if using anchors provided), push the rounded end up into the sleeve as much as possible. Use a hammer to drive in the anchors up to the top of the sleeve. Warning: driving the exposed threads on the bolt may damage them. 4d. Remove the nuts and washers. Place the Wall Mount Plate against the wall then replace nuts and washers. Tighten nuts. Site Survey Doc. 018-0913, item 1476913, Rev B 33 Section 3: Installation Empower Injector System, ) 35 POWER SUPPLY ‘The Power Supply may be placed on the floor or may be wall mounted. Location - The Power Supply will be usually connected to the Injector by a 50-t cable and to the Remote Control by a 20-ft. cable. There is an option’ for ‘2.20 ft Injector to power supply cable. Take into consideration the cable routing when locating the Power Supply, Injector, and the Remote Control. Location of power outlet— The preferred location of the power source is a wall outlet that must be within reach of the Power Supply's AC line cord {3 meters; approx. 9-ft.). To wall mount the Power Supply, install as follows: 4. Remove the Power Supply and AC line Cord from the Injector package. 2. Select a suitable wall location, Note: Make careful measurements before making permanent instellations. A 50-ft. cable is used to connect the Power Supply to the Injector, and a 204t. cable is used to connect the Power Supply to the Remote Control. The Power Supply AC line cord must also reach the power outlet. a. Using the Power Supply drawing (see Figure 3-3) mark 4 hole a) locations on the wall at the center of each “+” cutout. ». Drill mounting holes in the wall and insert the proper mounting hardware such that the space between the wall and the bottom of the head of the screw is 1/4". Note: Fasteners (not provided) must be rated for 30 Ib. load, minimum. c. Using a pair of pliers, remove the rubber feet on the bottom of the Power Supply. d. To mount the Power Supply, align the mounting sorews with the mounting holes and slide the Power Supply down. Insure that the Power Supply is closely fit against the wall. Ifitis not, remove the Power Supply and slightly decrease the distance between the head of the mounting screw and the wall. Empower Injector System 3.6 CABLE LENGTH CONFIGURATIONS ‘Two cables are provided that are sufficient for most installations: * Remote to Power Supply Cable ~ 20 ft. cable for connecting the Remote Control to the Power Supply. ‘An optional 50 ft cable is available (28 VDC). + Injector to Power Supply Cable ~ 50 ft. cable for connecting the Injector to the Power Supply. An optional 20 ft cable is available. Important: You cannot connect two Remote to Power Supply Cables or two Injector to Power Supply Cables together for the purposes of inoreased length. Please make sure that the cabies provided will be sufficient for the installation. Recommended Conduit Size: 1-1/2 to 2 Inches.
