Suppliers provide the raw material resources, unfinished goods and labors to thecompany in order
to produce goods and services. The effectiveness of suppliersdetermines the efficiency of the
company in terms of producing the goods. In additionto that the quality of the finished product has a
strong with the suppliers of the firmespecially in case of food products. As the presence of the
company is in more thanhundred companies, it is a challenge for the company to maintain its
standard all overthe world and provide the consistency to its customers in the taste and quality of
theproduct.Further we can divide the supplier of Nestle into two parts: Labor suppliers andmaterial
suppliers. Labor suppliers deal with the quantity of labor is required at theoptimum level in order to
prevent the loss of labor force and prevent the companyfrom the shortage of labor which again can
lead building of inventory as a cost for thecompany. The skills of labor is again maintained by the
labor suppliers, wherein thelabors of different skills are managed in such a way that the operation of
the firm canrun smoothly. Labor strikes and labor relations are other factors which we cannotignore
in the current scenario as the efficiency of the business depends largely on thefactors like attrition
and employee satisfaction.Material supplies handle all the material required by the firm in order to
manufacturethe finished product for sale. Nestle is in the food and quality markets and the qualityof
such item plays a major role in its success in the market.Nestle has maintained a high quality
efficiency in handling the quality and quantity of the two different supplies i.e. labor supplies and
material supplies and hence thecompany has been able to run its business smoothly for more than

The market intermediaries of the company help to advertize, sell and distribute itsproduct to the
end customers. The physical distribution network of the companydecides the medium by which the
finished product is delivered to the end customer ontime and with safety. This department also
ensures the proper storage of the firm thatprevents the product from getting any king of damage.
The marketing service department of the firm helps in the promotion of the productand acts as a
communication channel between the company and customers. It notonly communicates the
features of the product to its customers but also get thefeedback with the help of survey, which
helps the research and developmentdepartment to develop a product according to the need of the

area. Nestle was formed in 1905 by the merger of the Anglo-Swiss Milk Company, established in
186 by brothers George and Charles Page, andFarineLactee Henri Nestle. The company then
grew significally during the First World Warand again following the Second World War,
expanding its offering beyond its earlycondensed milk and infant formula products. Besides,

than that, Nestle has 447 factorieswhich operates in 194 countries, and has around 339,000 of
employes. It is also one of themain shareholders of L’Oreal, the world’s largest cosmetics
company.Other than that, Nestle has won many awards such as Malcolm Baldrige NationalQuality
Award in 2010, Global Food Industry Award in 2011, and Top Environment Award in2013 for its
commitment to environmental sustainability and for their excellence in the areasof leadership,
customer and market focus, strategic planning, process management,measurement, analysis
and knowledge management, workforce focus and results.
