Assignment 2 – Research on the Internet

Research

Do a research on THE INTERNET. Research should be done on the World Wide Web.

Research should cover:

1. What is the Internet (summary)
2. Uses of the Internet
3. Advantages and Disadvantages of the Internet
4. Securing data over the Internet (at least 3 ways)

GUIDELINES

1. Provide: Title and Cover pages

2. Provide a brief ‘Description of Components’ of the SBA: may be done as a
paragraph or bullets.
(Describe the following in your research: Paper size, line spacing,
margins, headings used, font, font size, formatting features included,
number of pages, page orientation etc.)
3. Provide a Table of Contents
4. Prepare a Research 3-4 pages on the information gathered.
5. Information should be typed in double line spacing.
6. Research should have at least four (4) types of headings (use the information
above to determine appropriate headings)
7. Pay careful attention to line spacing before and after your headings.
8. Insert a table displaying some aspects of the information.

9. Utilize Footnotes/Endnotes (two to be used in total; either one of each, or two of

one)
10. Provide a bibliography, using the APA format. You should include at least
THREE references (sources may include books, newspaper articles and Internet
sources)
11. Print ‘Print screen or screen shot’ of a least two web pages used to compile the
research (both should be on one page)
12. In an e-mail, attach the research paper Research should be sent to at least three
(3) friends by E-Mail attachment. Page showing the attachment and the emails
to which you have sent the attachment should be printed.
13. Ask one (1) recipient to screen shot the page from their email account to show
they have received your email. (attach this to your research along with a screen
shot of the email before it is sent off….both screen shots should be on a page)
14. Diagrams used should be clearly labelled

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

● Use a simple cover page

● All pages should have a header with name of student and document title…(should be in
size 10pt)
● Use Times New Roman, size 12 for the body of text
● Use Times New Roman, Size 14 for all headings, you may use all caps or initial caps
● Use appropriate line spacing
● Use appropriate images; Use footnotes or endnotes meaningfully

Title Page should include:

● The title of the Research and a picture

relating to the research
