Teaching Dates and March 3, 2023 Learning Area Science
Time 6:30 – 7:20 5B Quarter 3rd
7:20 – 8:10 6B
9:30 – 10:20 2B
10:20 – 11:10 3B

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard: The learners demonstrate an understanding of motion in one direction
B. Most Essential Learning Competency: Create and interpret visual representations of the
motion of objects such as tape charts and motion graphs (S7FE-IIIb-3)
 Create motion graphs based on a set of tabulated data and tape charts.

Specific Objectives:
 Plot points that show motion of an accelerating object on an xy graph
 Interpret an xy graph that shows the motion of an accelerating object; and
 Practice plotting to the graph with given data.
II. LEARNING RESOURCES
Topic: Motion Graphs

Concept:
 A positive acceleration indicates that the velocity is increasing while a negative acceleration
(sometimes called deceleration) indicates a decreasing velocity.

III. LEARNING RESOURCES

1. Self-Learning Module Third Quarter Module 3 (Graphical Analysis of Motion)

B. Other Learning Resources:

 IB Physics Motion Graphs | Grade Gorilla

CLASS PROCEDURES
Preliminaries
 Prayer
 Classroom check
 Checking of Attendance

ELICIT
The class will check their assignment from the previous lesson.
Assignment: Plot the given tabular data.

ENGAGE
The teacher will ask the student the following question:

 Do you think it is possible that the time is changing but not the distance?
 How can we say that there is a change in velocity?
EXPLORE
The Teacher will give an example of tabular data about speed – time graph, and let the students answer it
on the board.

EXPLAIN
Guide Question:

1. What is the difference of the two graphs?

2. What are the two variables that we used in the two graphs?
3. What do you think are the names of that graph?
4. What did you notice about the graph?
ELABORATE
Let’s Synthesize!

Direction: Analyze the speed-time graph of a cyclist on a straight track and answer the questions below.

Guide
Questions:

Q1. Is the motion of the cyclist uniform? Explain.

Q2. In what periods in the graph is the
a. speed constant?
b. cyclist accelerating?
c. cyclist decelerating?

EVALUATE
Short Quiz
Direction: TRUE or FALSE. Write true if the statement is correct and write false if it’s not.

1. It is possible that the car changes in time but not in distance.

2. The object moved from 3m/s² to 10m/s² that’s why it decelerates.
3. When we the object is at rest, the plotted values in the y-axis are not the same.
4. A graph with a uniform motion shows acceleration.
5. We use velocity and time as variable to show acceleration.
EXTEND
Do an advance reading about waves

IV. REFLECTION
No. of learners who earned 80% on the formative assessment
No. of learners who require additional activities for remediation
Did the remedial lesson work? No. of learners caught up with the lesson
No. of learners who continue to require remediation
Which of my teaching strategies worked well? Why did this work?
