Summary Report Organic Urban Gardening Seminar
The seminar-workshop dubbed “Organic Urban Farming” had Mr. Chris Harold M. Barlam
(LGU-MENRO, representative) and Mr. Edgardo A. Gonzales (CAFENR, faculty) as resource
speakers. Mr. Barlam shared his expertise on “Environmental Policies and Ordinances of the
Municipality of Carmona” while Mr. Gonzales talked about “Urban Organic Agriculture”. There
were 19 faculty and 49 participants from Brgy. Maduya who attended the seminar-workshop.
Talks were held on the morning and demonstrations on the afternoon by Mr. Gonzales on
different growing media that the participants can use for the competition. Before the day ended, Ms.
Kimberly Anne B. Mañabo and Mr. John Matthew D. Loyola, thoroughly discussed the mechanics
of the Urban Farming competition for the succeeding months. The monitoring will be conducted by
the CvSU-Carmona faculty, and the prizes for the winners were sponsored by the Rotary Club of
Carmona.
The Department of Arts and Sciences organized the seminar-workshop with the initiative of Ms.
Lea Marissa S. Domingo and Mr. Jonell V. Ocampo, the support from different faculty members and
CSG office who served in the different committees, and the Rotary Club of Carmona for sponsoring
the said event.
Attached herewith are the program, attendance sheet, mechanics, room-reassignment letter, and
financial report.

The Department of Arts and Sciences will hold a seminar on “Organic Urban Gardening” on
February 8, 2019 from 8:00AM-5:00PM at the audio-visual room.
In this regard, classes at the audio-visual room will be transferred to other rooms.
