Actividad Núcleo 3: What should we do to protect the environment?

Use modal verbs to:

 Give advice
 Suggest someone to do something
 Talk about permission and prohibition
 Instructions
 Write 15 recommendations using different modal verbs in
which you talk about what we have to do, should do, can do,
must do, among others, to protect the environment.

 Examples:
• We have to stop asking for plastic bags.
• We must carry our own bags when going shopping.

 On the other hand, write a short paragraph (30 lines), in which
you explain how to reuse and recycle "single use plastic”, and
other recyclable materials that we use every day.

SOLUTION

1.We must stop using plastics.

2.We should learn to recycle.
3.We shouldn't throw garbage on the Street.
4.We can't cut down tres.
5.We should plant tres.
6.We should reuse everything.
7.We should turn off the lights when we are not using them.
8.We must turn off the water faucets and avoid leaks.
9.We should maintain washing machines and refrigerators so they
don’t use more water and light than they need.
10.Unplug everything that is not being used, for example cell phone
chargers or computers.
11.Buy energy-saving appliances.
12.Don’t use pesticides, you can use biopesticides.
13.Reuse rainwater to water plants.
14.You should help to pick up garbage on the street.
15.You should transport yourself by bicycle and not by car or
motorcycle.

Currently we find many ways to reuse the well-known single-use

plastic, before without much concern they were just discarded and
then thrown into the sea causing a lot of damage to wildlife and of
course the flora of our planet, all our ecosystems were affected and
therefore altered. Today there are many organizations that ensure
that these actions are mitigated and soon extinguished, and children
from schools are being educated to be more aware of the
environment. For example there are companies that are dedicated to
collect these plastics and use them to make plastic wood, with it are
made chairs, tables, shelves and even facades of houses, in fact you
can even make blocks for construction with this recycled plastic.
And not only this, we ourselves can make ornaments, decorations,
baskets, water troughs and feeders for birds, pots to plant and make
our own garden, among many other things from our homes with
plastic bottles. But it is a fact, we must seek solutions and this
generation has given us too many lessons on what is right to do, we
can not continue to threaten the life of our planet because it is our
responsibility to take care of it so that our children and
grandchildren have a better future and do not live in precarious
situations. So it is in our hands to save the planet and change history.
Let's start from our homes, let's collect all the bottles, bags, cups,
containers, straws, cutlery, balloons, plates, all single-use plastic,
plastic if discarded will take about 500 years to decompose and it is
not fair to the earth, we are not giving back what it gives us. We can
make crafts, useful things that help us more, let's teach our children
from a very young age to take care of the planet because it is the one
that gives us life, we must learn to preserve all the wonderful things
it offers us. It is our task and our responsibility, let's save the
environment and planet earth!
