The Ligao East Central School conducted its school-based
Midyear In-Service Training for Teachers (INSET) on January
31, 2022 -February 1-4, 2022, in consonance with the Deped
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Order No. 29, s.2021, Re: School Calendar and School
Activities for School Year 2021-2022 which mandates the
conduct of School Based In-Service Training (INSET) for all
personnel at the end of the second quarter January 31,

February 2-5, 2022, while the students are having their

semestral break. As agreed during the staff meeting, February
1 was utilized as Day 2, even though it’s a holiday, instead of
extending the INSET to February 5 which was Saturday.
The School INSET was intended to enhance the

continuing professional development of the teachers based on
their needs. It was spearheaded by the school principal, Mr.
Eric L. Gangawan together with the school ICT Coordinator,
Mr. Romeo Joseph C. Quipid. The said training was pushed
through using the hybrid forum wherein those who are in a
Skeleton Workforce scheme attended onsite in the Computer
Room while those in a Work from Home schedule attended
virtually via Microsoft Teams.
a. Evaluate the school’s progress attained in the
implementation of the educational programs, projects, and
activities (PPAs).
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES: b. Review the performance of teachers and the school
staff to address concern through collaborative effort .
c. Prepare instructional materials (IMs) for the
implementation of Distance Learning .

 Capacitated the teachers on the School-Based
Management and on different principle of practices
 Prepared for the school on Self-assessment and
Validation of DODs
 Readjusted the school action plan for every PPAs
 Mid-year verification of supporting documents on

 Provided the teachers with skills on how to manage
PROGRAM OUTPUTS stress
 Provided the teachers with skills on strategies for
learners at risk.
 Created and design Video Lesson
 Teachers are expected to make a TB-VI or RBI script
 Created Interactive Quiz on handled subjects using
classpoint.
 The teachers created an organized folder output on
one drive using their MS 365 accounts.

GENERAL COMMENTS The program goes well and was done very smoothly. The
AND ISSUES speakers provided interactive activities that gave the
participants a chance to discover and practice what have they
ENCOUNTERED learned for every session. However, the time was not enough
since we have limited timeframe given to every speaker.

Internet connectivity was also the problem encountered during

the 5-day In-Service Training especially those who are
attending virtually. It made them difficult to catch-up some part
of the discussion. But good thing is that all sessions were able
to record that is why they can still view the topics that made
them difficult to understand.
The internet connection must be stable therefore the Wi-Fi
should be upgraded so that all insights will be clearly
understood especially those who are attending virtually. There
RECOMMENDATION must also enough time to be allotted for each speaker
especially those topics that needs more time for the
participants to explore.

Post-Program Evaluation Results

 I learned how to properly use the canva in teaching.
 We learn new things in this topic
 being in this new kind of education, we really need to go with the flow of the new
style of learning, go with the new technology...and always be updated.
 About the different application of technology
 i definitely learned new things in this INSET Trainings

the RPMS, PPST and IPCRF to better serve our clienteles, our learners.
 Gain more insight using CANVA
 This five-day Training brought us something new and worthwhile because it's a
huge help for us teachers that can be applied in our own respective class.
 To enhance and improve my skills and abilities in order to impart my knowledge
to others especially to the learners.
 I have learned something new specially in the use of ICT
 New knowledge and skills to be patiently practiced and learn to be a more
proficient teacher.
 I have learned that we should open our minds in learning new things to help us
improve professionally. These new learnings we have learned from this INSET
will not just help us but most especially the school children.
 It’s about mental health for our teachers
 Using modern technologies and the apps will help us a lot in the teaching-
learning process.

 I learned how to create video lessons thru canva

 I gained new learnings.
 We learn based in our experiences. We need to share our knowledge, skills and
expertise in order to help each other to develop well.
 After the 5 day training I realize that preparing video lesson isn't that hard and
apps which were being introduced to us are very easy to use. I just have to be
more patient and work harder.
 I learn more insights about this training especially on distance learning.
 I learned so much how to use canva from the topic of Ms. Pam
 New Learnings and insight.
 There are many ways to teach children. We can use some applications so that
we can teach children in synchronous modality.
 Although we have a pandemic, there's always ways to teach children.

ACCOMPLISHMENT / NARRATIVE REPORT

Midyear In-Service Training for Teachers
January 31, 2022 – February 1- 4, 2022
DAY 1 – January 31, 2022 (Monday)
The first day was facilitated by the kinder teachers. Ms. Ma. Apple
Mae Casapao acted as Program Moderator while Ms. Donna Jean G.
Olarte checked the attendance. Moreover, other preliminaries were done
through an audio- visual presentation. Our School Principal gave the
opening remarks while the District 9 Supervisor, Mrs. Lourdes S.
Morales extended her greetings through a recorded message.
The topic discussed on the first day was School – Based

Management System (SBM) for School Year 2021-2022. The first
discussant was the School Principal, Sir Eric L. Gangawan. He started
his session by asking the participants what comes to their mind when
they hear or read the word “SBM”. The teacher participants gave their
answers using the app Menti.com. He explained thoroughly and
comprehensively the meaning of SBM as well as the different
ACRONYMS and programs related to it. The second speaker was Mrs.
Maria Teresa Luisa G. Acido. She tackled about Self-Assessment
(school level) Pre-Assessment, Recognition and Incentives, Benefits of
SBM in Level 1, 2, & 3 both private and public schools.
The afternoon session was a continuation of SBM discussion.

Level 1 which is Leadership and Governance was further explained by
Mrs. Marry June T. Marabella, Mrs. Lea S. Castillo and Ms. Donna Jean
G. Olarte. They enumerated the SBM Indicators Level of Practice and
MOV or evidences needed. The Dimension 2 which is Curriculum and
Learning was expounded further by Mrs. Nora B. Lozada, Mrs. Jenna
Morato, Mrs. Cynthia Velarde and Mrs. Marjorie P, Llorera. While
Dimension 3- Accountability and Continuous Improvement was given
meaning and in-depth discussion by Mrs. Alona M. Perdigones. While

Mrs. Jovy C. Catanduanes gave a thorough elaboration on Dimension 4

which is Management of Resources.
After the comprehensive discourse about SBM, Mr. Sherwin

Ondevilla, School Property Custodian, presented the School Site
Development Plan and other school properties while Mrs. Nora B.
Lozada shared updates on vaccination, Wash in School Monitoring
system, washing facilities and dental hygiene.
DAY 2 – February 1, 2022 (Tuesday)
Though it was a holiday due to the celebration of Chinese New

Year but as agreed upon by the majority during the Staff Meeting
conducted prior to INSET, the second day of INSET was still pushed
through utilizing the Virtual Scheme via Microsoft Teams since all
teachers are at the comfort of their homes. The four competent Master
Teachers in the school, namely; Mrs. Nora B. Lozada, Mrs. Marry June
T. Marabella, Mrs. Alona M. Perdigones and Mrs. Jovy C. Catanduanes
introduced and oriented the teachers on the Use of E-Sat and IPCRF
Tools for SY 2021-2022.
After their profound orientation, Sir Eric Gangawan gave an all-out

discussion on Deped Order 58, s. 2017 Adoption of New School Forms
for Kindergarten, Senior High School, Alternative Learning System,
Health and Nutrition and Standardization of Permanent Records.
After Mr. Gangawan’s discussion, Mrs. Elen Mengullo shared her

updates and accomplishments as School Feeding Coordinator.
The sessions on Day 2 was facilitated by Grade Two teachers -

Mrs. Elen P. Mengullo served as the Program Moderator, Mrs. Marilou
Gonzalez shared the Words to Ponder while Mrs. Erma N. Baluyo was
in-charged of the Recapitulation of yesterday’s session.

DAY 3 – February 2, 2022 (Wednesday)
The management of learning for the third day was facilitated by the
Grade 5 teachers. The program moderator was Mrs. Imelda Noble; Word
of the day was given by Mrs. Gina Balela; Mrs. Janeth Laut gave the
recap of yesterday’s topics while Mrs. Jovy Catanduanes introduced the
guest speaker.
In order to provide an avenue for teachers to cultivate positive

mindset and to check their mental health awareness, the topics during
Day 3 addressed these issues.
The morning session was about Managing Stress in Times of

Pandemic (Positive Discipline Among Teachers) which was
enthusiastically delivered by Mr. Fermin Curaming, Ligao National High
School teacher, in an engaging manner. Mr. Curaming also discussed
the Three-Part Presentation with the topics: Basics of Mental Health,
Overcoming Psycho-social Issues Amidst the Pandemic and Self-Care
for Teachers: Why does it matter? He used different strategies like
games, question and answer, and presenting movie clips to impart his
knowledge to teachers. He also shared his 5 Ways to Allow a Happy and
Healing Life: (1) Awareness; (2) Acceptance; (3) Forgiveness; (4) Letting
Go; and (5) Moving On. Before he ends his session, he let us watch the
video from Sesame Street with a message of “Keep on trying and don’t
give up! He also shared this quote, “The world is like we think it is. Our
attitude towards living is all that matters.”
In the afternoon, some teachers presented their Accomplishment

Reports in their respective coordinatorships. Mrs. Alicia T. Vicencio
showcased her accomplishments as Reading and Araling Panlipunan
Coordinator and as SLAC Coordinator together with Mrs. Xera Mila D.
Embido. They also showed the schedule and topics to be discussed in
the upcoming SLAC. Further, Mrs. Maria Teresa Luisa G. Acido
presented the school’s Diagnostic and First Quarter Results. She also
gave some clarifications regarding the computation of Performance
Level.

Meanwhile, the second topic for the day was tackled by Ms. Paula
Kristine S. Villena, Ligao National High School teacher. Her topic was
“Live, Laugh, Love: Revisiting the Child Within”. She presented her topic
through a recorded video presentation. She started with an activity
wherein participants were able to share their dreams when they are still
children, their embarrassing moments as a child and what made them
feel loved. It was eagerly participated by the teachers. She also
discussed the definition of living, how to live life like a child, benefits of
laughter, how to laugh like a child, meaning of childlike love, why we
should love like a child and anger regulation techniques.
The last event that transpired on the third day was the presentation
of the SSES Coordinator, Mrs. Meriam B. Escopete. She proudly
announced that two SSES pupils won in Regional Contests. She also
shared updates and gave recommendations for the welfare of the SSES
classes.
DAY 4 – FEBRUARY 3, 2022 (Thursday)

It is said that we humans are resilient. We can learn to thrive in our
new normal if we have the mindset and the resources we need to adapt.
The Day 3 Sessions capacitate the teachers with the new

resources and technologies that are useful and applicable in the new
normal set-up of teaching and learning.
The first speaker was Ms. Christine Dessa S. Muñoz, Legazpi City
Division teacher, who talked about, “New Normal Technology: TV Based
and Radio Based Instruction.” She presented sample video lessons in

participants how each approach differ from each other. As an expert
being a teacher broadcaster herself, she gave insights as to the know-
hows of creating video lessons and even gave her own sample video
lessons.

“Using Canva in Creating Video Lessons: The Basics,” was the

topic assigned to Ms. Pamela G. Garcia, another Ligao National High
school teacher. She guided the teachers who do not have account yet in
Canva in creating one. Her discussion was very interactive and captured
the interest of the teacher participants. If we want to make our video
lessons more creative and attractive to the learners we can explore and
try Canva designs. Indeed, everything is #KayaSaCanva!
After the session of Ms. Pam about Canva, Mrs. Alma B. Sadia
and Ms. Donna Jean Olarte presented their accomplishments and
shared updates as Brigada Eskwela coordinators.
Meanwhile, the facilitators for the day assigned were the Grade 3
teachers – Mrs. Hazel Ruth A. Garcia was the program moderator and
she also gave the recapitulation of the events that transpired the other
day, Mrs. Melinda Recierdo checked the attendance while Mrs. Lorna
Princesa gave some thoughts to ponder.
DAY 5 – FEBRUARY 4, 2022 (Friday)

The topics for the last day of INSET were still about enabling and
capacitating teachers about updated teaching strategies with the use of
ICT resources.
The Management of Learning for this day was supervised by the
Grade 4 teachers. Mrs. Ma. Theresa Q. Ibieta served as the program
moderator, Mrs. Alicia T. Vicencio checked the attendance, Mrs.
Joahnellen C. Razo shared some words to ponder while Mrs. Xera Mila
D. Embido provided the recap of yesterday’s session.
The speaker for the morning session was Mr. Christian Rey M.
Obejas, teacher of Ligao City National Technological and Vocational
High School, who discussed about “Interactive Teaching Strategies
using ICT Resources utilizing Classpoint (Interactive Classroom Quiz in

Powerpoint). The discussion was indeed interactive as participants

actively and gamely participated in his discussion.
The second topic for the day was presented by the tech-savvy
school principal himself, Mr. Eric L. Gangawan. He gave a clear and
comprehensive analysis of the similarities and differences of different
online applications where we can save our files. He gave particular
emphasis on the use of OneDrive Management Report through
Paperless Scheme. He even demonstrated how to create files and how
he signed it digitally.
To mark the end of the 5-day fun and learning filled training, a
closing program was held. Mrs. Sarah L. Marbella acted as the Master of
Ceremony. Impressions were given by Ms. Ma. Apple Mae Casapao and
Mrs. Ma. Arlin O. Naz while the challenge given by the School Principal,
Mr. Eric L. Gangawan was wholeheartedly accepted by Mrs. Lynn G.
Opiana and Mrs. Meriam B. Escopete.
Meanwhile, speakers during the training sessions were given
Certificates of Recognition and simple tokens of appreciation. While the
teacher participants received their certificates digitally after answering
the evaluation in google forms. However, each one of them were still
given with a hard copy of certificates signed by the school principal. And
to formally end the training, Mr. Sherwin Ondevilla, Grade 6
Chairperson, expressed his heartfelt closing remarks.
Indeed, it was a fruitful, motivating and engaging 5-day INSET
where teachers were equipped not just with updated skills that they can
utilize in the exercise of their duties as educators, but they were also
instilled with positive values and attitudes so that they will remain
mentally healthy and on track.
