CONCEPT PAPER
Title :Project A.S.A.P.H.
Target Date to be published :NOVEMBER 2020
Venue : SACS High School Department
Clientele :CIP Adopted Community
Sponsoring Area : Student Council Core , Grade 12 Officers
RATIONALE:
The Mactan Urban Poor Community near Mactan Newtown is known for its peaceful and
comfortable kind of living. Based on our observation, most of the residents here have stable
living and are approachable that is why there is a fast development of the community.
However, some families in our community still have some problems like unemployment
especially that COVID-19 hits the world. The SCC came up with the advocacy program in
improving the community by observing what is lacking and planning on what we can do to help.
The project “Action of Students Against Poverty & Hunger (ASAPH)” where this community
immersion program would include a short catechism, recreational games and feeding. Within
1-4 hours that we’re going to spend in this activity, we’ll be able to help, contribute and give
love to our neighbors. If we can’t still engage with people due to the current regression. We can
still have our Project ASAPH by letting the Alphonsian Community donate in kind (e.g. can
goods, rice, noodles and etc.) which they can drop off in the school. For the distribution of the
goods, it will be done by a trusted person in a specific adopted community that will be chosen
by the CIP Coordinator to let him/her do the distributing of the good in each family in the
adopted community since we can’t do it ourselves. The collection of the donation would be a 2-
week long so that we can gather enough goods to be given to our adopted community.
OBJECTIVES:
The project “Project A.S.A.P.H.” aims to:
 To stimulate the holistic formation and total human liberation of
Alphonsians in terms of helping to needy.

 To let students act a selfless commitment in the community pervasive

with the DOLSH Spirituality of the Heart and the Benedictine
Spirituality “Ora et Labora” (Pray and Work);

 To evangelize the word of God to local communities

 To have a better awareness and consciousness of current and local
issues that need immediate response

Dear Sister:

Greetings of Peace & Joy!

The Mactan Urban Poor Community near Mactan Newtown is known for its peaceful
and comfortable kind of living. However, some families in this community still have
some problems like unemployment especially that COVID-19 hits the world. By
observing what is lacking and planning on what we can do to help, the SCC came up
with the advocacy program in improving the community. The project “Action of Students
Against Poverty & Hunger (ASAPH)” where this community immersion program would
let the SCC Officers and all the Grade 12 class officers conduct a short catechism,
recreational games and feeding. If we can’t still engage with people due to the current
regression, we can let the Alphonsian Community donate in kind (e.g. can goods, rice,
noodles and etc.) which they can drop off in the school. For the distribution of the
goods, it will be done by a trusted person in a specific adopted community that will be
chosen by the CIP Coordinator to let him/her do the distributing of the good in each
family in the adopted community since we can’t do it ourselves. The collection of the
donation would be a 2-week long so that we can gather enough goods to be given to
our adopted community.

With the above-mentioned reasons, I, Charmaine Niña S Bontilao, would like to request
that Project A.S.A.P.H would push through by the month, November 2020.

We are hoping for your kind consideration and approval for this program. May God
bless you always!

Respectfully,

CHARMAINE NIÑA S. BONTILAO
