have full academic exemption and once they have gained three years’ relevant work experience may enter CIOB
membership as an applicant to progress towards Chartered Membership without the requirement for an Individual
Assessment. Those with an accredited HNC/HND/Foundation degree have partial academic exemption and are only
eligible for Chartered Membership once they have gained a Bachelor (Honours) qualification (or equivalent) as well
as three years’ relevant work experience.
