UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION, LAHORE http://www.ue.edu.pk SEE March // 2022 CIRCULAR No.UE/R/2022/_]Do/ In pursuance of the Higher Education Department, Government of the Punjab letter No. SO(PEEF)1-Nacotics/2019 dated 22.02.2022 and the orders of Hon'ble Lahore High Court Lahore dated 17.12.2021 passed in Writ Petition No. 237588/2018 titled as Sheikh Asim Farooq vs Federation of Pakistan, the Competent Authority has directed to observe the following directions for strict compliance; (i) (ii) (ii) (iv) No! There will be complete ban on storage, sale and distribution of cigarettes or other tobacco products within 50 meters of the University of Education, Lahore. No official and Academic Member shall be allowed to use cigarette in University premises. Availability of cigarettes or any other smoking substance shall be prohibited in University Canteen / Cafe and Tuck-Shop. Prohibited of Smoking shall be given wide publicity on prominent places by displaying posters, standees etc. The Anti-bullying and Anti-abuse Committee already notified vide No.UE/DD-G/2021/2696 dat ed 29.11.2021 (Annexure-A) will act as Monitoring Committee which will be responsible to ensure compliance of the above said directions.
