Free Liberty and Refundation

History. Is a political party in Honduras that was formed in march 15, 2011 as a
coalition of various left-wing groups and social movements. It arose in response to
the cup in Honduras in 2009 and established itself as a progressive political
alternative. This association was created by National Popular Resistance Front The
president was Manuel Zelaya, the secretary Juan Alberto Barahona, the leader
Xiomara Castro.
Since its creation, it has participated in three general elections, always leading
Zelaya's wife, Xiomara Castro, as a candidate. In the 2013 elections, it managed to
position itself as the second force with the largest number of votes.
In the 2017 elections, free joined the Innovation and Unity Party in an alliance to
take Salvador Nasralla as presidential candidate, for which Castro deposed his
candidacy. While in the 2021 elections, Nasralla joined free as a candidate for the
first presidential designee, accompanying presidential candidate Xiomara Castro,
and the party scored its first electoral victory.

universal health and education, feminism, rights of native peoples, rights for people
from the LGBT community. The name of the institution is "The revolution is
inevitable in Honduras", words chosen by former president Zelaya, who remains

Proposals
Its objective is to break with the neoliberal system and carry out an economic
system more oriented to a third way. It seeks the execution of public policies aimed
at strengthening the different types of companies and property: Private and Social,
such as cooperatives, rural banks, and solidarity ventures. It proposes to create a
new Honduran constitution called "refoundation", which It demands its own law
and a new role for the democratic State in defense of the rights of workers, women,
students, ethnic, sexual and economic rights. It has been proposed to transform the
educational system, orienting it towards social development and the improvement
of Honduran educational centers.

Coup
In the early morning of June 28, 2009, Manuel Zelaya Rosales was legally arrested
