HUACACHINA

Huacachina is a desert oasis and a small village just west of the city of Ica, in southwestern Peru. At its
center are the green waters of the Huacachina lagoon, which is believed to have therapeutic properties and is
surrounded by palm trees. The shores of the lagoon have bars and clubs. The buggies cross the high
undulating dunes that surround the village.

Huacachina is a beautiful oasis located in the Ica desert, in the department of Pisco, just 5 hours from the
city of Lima.

This oasis is known as the Oasis of Latin America and is one of the few remaining in this region. The green
water lagoon is surrounded by large palm trees, eucalyptus and huarangos, which gives the oasis a natural
green touch.

A popular activity is to take a walk around the Huacachina Oasis. You can tour the lagoon in a pedal boat or
walk along the boardwalk. In addition, you can enjoy delicious food and savor good wine in the various bars
and restaurants in the area.

Another must-see activity in Huacachina is visiting the pisco wineries. You will be able to witness the
winemaking process and, above all, pisco, the emblematic liquor of the country. The tour culminates with a
tasting of the different liquors produced there. These tours are available from Huacachina.

If you are a lover of extreme emotions, you cannot stop sandboarding in the dunes of the Huacachina desert.
This place is considered one of the best to slide over the dunes of different sizes. You can start from a
smaller dune if you are a beginner and then try steeper dunes. You will not regret the experience!

Also, you can explore the desert in buggies. The drivers of these vehicles are renowned for their ability to
maneuver between the dunes. Going through the desert at full speed in one of these buggies will give you an
incredible adrenaline rush and allow you to enjoy the landscape from a unique perspective. It is the ideal
time to bring out the adventurer in you.
