What happened during the conference?

On March 23, 2023 declared as our first Immersion under LTS-12

with the guidance of Mr. Charlie Regala, our Instructor, headed the purposeful activity
within NSTP. That day we gathered around as early as 8 am to begin our engagement
activity within the community of baranggay San Roque. There, we collaborated with its
baranggay baranggay officials in order to fulfill our one aim and that is to create avenue
for change within how children within that area perceive our main goal and that is to
give importance to learnings.

However, we didn’t start as early as we expected that day due to

some lacking of acknowledgement from the baranggay officials since we waited for
almost 3 hours there and unfortunately we got to start only at 10am. By then, we
managed to start our platform right there however one more restraining situation
occurred and that is we have no target individuals to teach that time. No children came
from that moment however we managed to find one from the daughter of one of the
baranggay employees there. And that is the only time we began our immersion and as
hours passed by we had another child to teach so basically its now 2 of them. And as
we end that day with a bit of disappointment, still we made to fulfill our pursue our
project and that is be able to disseminate the importance of learning and education.

How do I feel about it.

The first day of our immersion made me feel excited and at the
same time interested how this immersion will look like given the fact that this is the very
first immersion we will participate with within our NSTP journey. Although we feel
disappointed with our first day however, this still made the justification of indulging our
passion and perseverance despite of the obstacles we will face within our journey.
Therefore it made me feel the courage to continue despite of many obstructions we will
face because that’s how the process we will undergo before we achieve success. And
just by thought that we are going to teach that day made me feel so nervous because it
feels like we are effective, assisting the learning of all pupils, keeping pace with their
needs, handling the complex demands of teaching with insight and fluid flexibility, they
experience joy, excitement, exhilaration and deep satisfaction within teaching. And I
guess that is just normal for a beginner to feel. Above all, it is exciting and challenging
at the same time. So a lot of lesson was learned and a very unique experience to begin
with our first day of our immersion.

What did I learn?

I could say within that immersion, a lot of things could be learn. We

learned how to be patient, we learned how to appreciate small things, learned how to be
contented with what we only have and also learned to see things beyond this obstacles
we had faced. This made me realize how important to keep our goals on the tract and
never be discouraged with what we could face during our walk towards success. Always
have a positive mind and be brave and always believe the process.
I also learned that unity creates the experience of cooperation,
increases enthusiasm for the task and makes the atmosphere empowering. Unity
creates a sense of belonging and increases well-being for all. Furthermore, unity is not
only gives hope, courage and hope but also brings a change. Unity Gives Motivation:
When we work as a team, we get motivated by each other and encouraged to work
harder. With motivation and hard work, we can accomplish any goal.

I also realize the value of showing appreciation because it can also

generates respect and builds relationships. The keys are to be sincere and specific.
Whether it's in person or in writing, it's always good to praise others in public, which
raises morale. Just keep it genuine; going overboard can have the reverse effect. And
also, appreciating small things involves acknowledging and understanding what
something is and finding joy and beauty in it. Moreover, can also mean an increase in
value. While this is typically a monetary value, we find that significant because when we
appreciate something, it becomes more valuable to us.

Therefore within our first day of Immersion, I harvest a lot of lessons

and profound learnings that will surely develop within me since the field I am taking is
the field in nursing therefore a lot of difference will surely grow within me in order to
attain success for our upcoming community engagement or community nursing.
