Abat Oliba CEU University (UAO CEU) is one of three universities
in the San Pablo CEU Foundation. Ever since it became a private
university in 2003, UAO CEU has been committed to an original
academic model that places the connection between teacher and
student at the heart of its programmes, implementing innovative
teaching methodologies.
UAO CEU offers a unique catalogue of courses with an increasing
focus on internationalisation. The University offers a comprehensive
range of educational opportunities. In addition to the wide range of

This Official Master's Degree in Logistics
and International Trade aims to support
our students both academically and
professionally in achieving the knowledge
they need to internationalise businesses,
with a focus on import-export activities
and logistics and transport operations,
and the rational, scientific criteria such
activities require in decision making.
As a specialisation in the field of business
management, this master's degree is
aimed at international trade and business,
as well as the logistics and transport
operations involved in international trade.

Those applying to take this Official Master’s in Logistics and International Trade must hold either a higher university degree
title from Spain, or a foreign degree (equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in the Anglo-Saxon system). This profile includes:

• Graduates of Administration and Business Management, Economics, Marketing and Commercial Management,
Marketing and Market Investigation, Business Sciences, Transport Sciences and Logistics.

• Graduates or similar in other academic fields with accredited work experience in the fields of Trade and Logistics
• Engineers from any field of specialty
This educational programme does not require specific prior experience in the Logistics or International Trade industry.

Objectives
The main goal of the official master’s degree
in Logistics and International Trade is to train
professional experts in logistics, transport and
international commerce, so that they are capable
of leading the management of supply chains and
their logistics, as well as optimising the use of
transports minimising deadlines, costs and the
environmental impact, and leading projects of
business internationalisation.
Other specific learning objectives include:
• Identifying the international supply chains at the
global, continental and regional level.
• Enabling graduates to control, manage and
direct logistics chains and their integrated
processes and sub-processes, as well as the
associated transport operations.

• Mastering the processes of negotiation and
procurement of transport and logistics, meeting
the expected criteria of profitability.
• Knowing the technical and operational aspects
of each mode of transport and its operators at
the global, continental, regional and local level.
• Learning the functionalities and characteristics of
the support infrastructures used in transport and
logistics, as well as the main logistics/port hubs.
• Gaining the ability to design, develop and
implement projects to internationalise companies.
• Analysing “country risk” and security in supply
chains, as part of the establishment of new
international businesses.
• Knowing and understanding new international
markets and the flows of goods they generate,
as well as detecting business opportunities in any
field of business activity.
• Knowing all the elements involved in international
traffic, import and export operations and the
documentation that accompanies and certifies
these processes.
• Applying Corporate Social Responsibility in all
activities, including those run by the company
and those of our suppliers and clients.
In short, the subjects that make up this Official
Master’s Degree in Logistics and International
Trade are aimed at helping students acquire a

will need to use in the field of logistics.

External internship (10 ECTS credits)

This master's includes 10 credits (100 working hours) of a part-time internship in the fields of Logistics, Transport and International Trade,
with multinational businesses and organisations. The programme directors are responsible for providing the student with work experience in
companies. The completion of these credits is compulsory, but may be considered covered by appropriate work experience.

• European Port Experience: programme of advanced studies in management and business related to ports. It comprises a four-day study
trip to the port of Rotterdam, one of the most important in the world; as well as trips to Hamburg and Barcelona, ranked among the most

• Students may also choose to benefit from a tailored programme of supplementary training programmes in the afternoons, from Monday to
Thursday (the additional cost of these training programmes will be calculated depending on the specific needs of each student).

European Port Experience
European Port Experience is a programme of advanced
studies in management and business related to ports.
It consists of a four-day study trip to the ports of
Rotterdam (9th largest port in the world and 1st largest
in Europe in terms of operations) and Antwerp (the 2nd
largest port in Europe) for advanced training taught by
specialist industry managers.
The programme is completed with a subsequent visit
to Barcelona Port (the largest Mediterranean port for
tourist business).
The programme sees students attending classes at
the port facilities and visiting the sites. Travel and
accommodation is included in the programme.

distributed over the course of one academic year,
of which 10 credits correspond to mandatory work
experience at companies and 10 to the Master's
Dissertation, which is also mandatory.
Calendar
from October to July The subjects are distributed over
two semesters, each worth 30 credits.
Format and timetable
The teaching methodology used in the Official Master’s
Degree in Logistics and International Trade is that of
blended learning, with obligatory sessions on Fridays
from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Students will also have access
to personalised support from tutors and teaching staff
through digital platforms to complement teaching
throughout the course.
The schedule of the internship will be agreed with the
organisation in question.

Total cost of the master’s:
€ 6,975.
(The programme includes the cost of the European Port
Experience, valued at €1,250)
Payment methods
Candidates admitted in the ordinary admissions period
must reserve their place on the programme by paying
€1,400, and this amount will be counted towards the
total cost of the programme. Once you have formalised
reservation of your place, the remaining amount can be
paid in the following ways:
• Single payment. A one-off payment entitles you to
a discount of 3% on tuition fees.
• Payment by instalments. 3 instalments per year.
• Monthly payments. 10 instalments with special 0%
interest financing. This also entitles students to a
discount of 3% on tuition fees.
• Other financing agreements. With Banco
Santander, CaixaBank and Banc Sabadell. This also
entitles students to a discount of 3% on tuition fees.
Scholarships
Programme of financial support for postgraduate
studies, based on academic merit, personal and
financial circumstances, as well as agreements with
financial institutions. The value ranges from 10% to 30%
of the total amount of the programme.
This master's programme meets the requirements to be
subsidised through Fundació Tripartita. Please check
with Student Services when formalising enrolment.
International students can apply for the International
Early Enrolment programme, which give access to direct
discounts on the cost of the postgraduate course.
The Agency for the Management of University and
Research Grants (AGAUR) of the Government of
Catalonia also provides preferential loans for financing
tuition fees.
 Admissions
process
1 Applications
The candidate must apply through the Prospective Student Portal available
on the university website. The ordinary application period ends in July and
the extraordinary application period ends in September.

2 Interview
For some programmes, a specific admissions test must be taken, in addition
to a personal interview where the following selection criteria are taken into
account: academic record, professional experience and complementary
training. Such interviews may be conducted in person or via Skype.

3 Admission
The Admissions Committee evaluates applications and makes the final
decision within approximately fifteen days from the time the application is
complete.

If the decision is favourable, the candidate must reserve their place on the
programme. Once you have passed the entrance requirements and provided
the necessary documentation, you will be able to register online.

Admission to the programme is only for the academic year in which the
candidate applies.

If a minimum number of students is not reached, the University may cancel the master’s. In the case of
suspension of the programme, students will be notified three weeks in advance.
