COURSE DESCRIPTION:
A general integration of the principles in civil law covering the following major
subjects:
B. Persons and Family Relations, more specifically, on persons, the concepts of civil
personality, use of surnames, absence and presumptive death. On family
relations, we will tackle the requisites of marriage, void and voidable
marriages, legal separation, rights and obligations between husband and wife,
property relations between husband and wife, family, paternity and filiation,
adoption and the administrative adoption act, support, parental authority,
emancipation, and the provisions of the Family Code on absence, surnames and
summary judicial proceedings.
E. Obligations and Contracts, Sales, Maceda Law, Recto Law, Lease, Agency, Trust,
Credit Transactions, Torts and Damages
F. On Land Registration, we will cover the concepts of the regalian doctrine, the
torrens system, the Public Land Act and the Property Registration Decree
(A) Know and understand the laws; (B) Memorize provisions; (C) Develop: (i)
critical and analytical thinking; (ii) proficiency in written and oral communication;

and (iii) logical reasoning and sound judgment; and (D) Exercise
proper professional and ethical responsibilities
LEARNING PLAN: Design or structure the course that will include the contents/topics

up; and the learning methods to be utilized that are most likely to lead students towards
the goals and learning outcomes that were defined.
