Preference adalah bentuk ungkapan yang digunakan untuk menyatakan rasa suka terhadap sesuatu.

Untuk menyatakan rasa lebih suka, kita dapat mennggunakan beberapa ungkapan, diantaranya:

A. Prefer - to

Prefer + to inf/V-ing/noun

e.g.:1. He prefers to live in a small


country.
2. I prefer drinking coffee.
3. They prefer the house.

Prefer + V-ing/n+ to + V-ing/n

e.g.: 1. My father prefers listening


to music to watching a
movie.
2. They prefer football to
tennis.

B. Like – better than


1.
like + to inf/v-ing/noun
e.g.: 1. The boy likes to study in the
library.
2. The merchant likes selling in
the traditional market.
3. The man liked the luxirious
car.

e.g.:1. We like singing better than


dancing.
2. He likes motorcycle better
than a car.
3. Would rather - than
1. would rather + verb in simple form

e.g.: They would rather go to a


beach.

on the weekend.
