CURRICULUM SATO ANAK PINTAR 2023-2024

The curriculum is the basis for the teacher, based on each topic, the teacher should draw up a detailed plan for
each lesson, indicate sources of information (workbooks), additional materials in the form of multimedia, games,
presentations, projects.

English (Phonics and Phonological Awareness, Reading and Comprehension, Vocabulary


Development, Grammar and Sentence Structure, Grammar and Sentence Structure, Writing
Skills, Speaking and Listening, Comprehension Strategies, Handwriting and Spelling)

The study of English is divided into 3 separate subjects: General English, Writing and
Reading, Grammar

General English 5 tuition per week, Grammar 2 tuition per week, Reading/Writing 3 tuition
per week

The duration of an academic hour is 45 minutes.

1. Phonics and Phonological Awareness: Students learn letter sounds and their
corresponding symbols (graphemes). They practice blending sounds together to form words
and segmenting words into individual sounds. Phonological awareness activities, such as
rhyming and syllable counting, are also introduced.

2. Reading and Comprehension: Students develop basic reading skills, including recognizing
and reading high-frequency words, decoding simple texts, and understanding simple
sentences and stories. They work on building comprehension skills by answering questions
and making predictions about the text.

3. Vocabulary Development: Students expand their vocabulary through reading and


engaging in conversations. They learn new words and their meanings, including common
nouns, verbs, adjectives, and prepositions.

4. Grammar and Sentence Structure: Students begin to understand basic grammar rules,
such as using capital letters, punctuation marks (periods, question marks), and forming
complete sentences with subjects and predicates.
5. Writing Skills: Students learn to write letters and words using correct letter formation and
spacing. They practice writing simple sentences and short paragraphs, expressing their
ideas and experiences in writing.

6. Speaking and Listening: Students develop their speaking and listening skills through class
discussions, storytelling, and oral presentations. They learn to communicate their thoughts
clearly and listen actively to others.

7. Comprehension Strategies: Students are introduced to reading comprehension strategies,


such as making connections, predicting, visualizing, and asking questions. These strategies
help them understand and engage with different types of texts.

8. Handwriting and Spelling: Students develop their handwriting skills by practicing correct
letter formation and improving legibility. They also learn to spell simple words using their
understanding of phonics and sight words.

the curriculum is approved by the director and is not subject to change during the academic year, it
is possible to supplement it in order to achieve the highest results
