PRONOUNCEMENT ON THE NOMINATION, SELECTION AND

APPOINTMENT OF THE UNITASS COUNCIL’S 1ST YEAR

CHAIRPERSON - 2021 Edition

Rationale

In order for freshmen of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan’s College of Arts and Sciences
to be properly represented, the UNITASS Council must nominate the 1st Year Chairperson after
undergoing a meticulous assessment to deem them worthy of the position.

Qualifications of the 1st Year Chairperson

● Must be an enrolled College of Arts and Sciences freshman of Xavier University –

Ateneo de Cagayan of the Academic Year 2021 – 2022
● Should have great interpersonal and communication skills
● May or may not have student leadership experience prior to their freshman year of
college but exhibits qualities of a good leader: integrous, has the ability to delegate, has
self-awareness, gratitude, empathy, courage, and respect
● Ready to work with the student leaders in the UNITASS Council

Responsibilities of the 1st Year Chairperson

● Head the 1st Year Representatives of all the CAS Co-Curricular Organizations
● Manage the Tiger Huddle on a monthly basis
● Head Year Level Chapter project/s
● Gather information and concerns of his/her batch
● Distribute and manage the effective circulation of information (posts, events, etc.)
● Must always keep in touch of the batchmates, whether in campus setting or virtually
● Connect with the CAS Co-Curricular Organizations and assist in project promotions,
especially the smaller programs.
● Be able to identify how to unify the batch, since it is their first year together
