Investigating complaints about food safety violations such as unsanitary conditions, improper
storage methods, or spoiled food item2. Conducting laboratory analysis of food products to
test for contamination or spoilage.3. Performing routine inspections of food processing
facilities, and other locations where food is sold or prepared.4. Inspecting food processing
equipment for cleanliness and proper sanitation procedures.5. Working with other government
agencies to address food safety concerns.6. Keeping records of inspections and test results to
aid in identifying possible food hazards.7. Testing food samples for contamination by bacteria
