Animation
30's to nowadays
The Golden Age, the most important of the other three starts with the creation
of Steamboat Willie, the first short film of Disney in 1928 and the Skeleton
Dance, the short film which the classic Silly Symphonies were born.
Many of the most iconic characters in animation were created in this age.
Characters like Goofy, Betty Boop or Bugs Bunny.
After the war, most of the Looney Tunes short films and the first series of the
Hanna-Barbera studio began to be broadcast on TV, giving way to the next
age.
The TV age gives rise to most of the classic series around the world.
In Japan we can see series like Astro Boy or Kimba, the White Lion, that
people often mistakenly think that Disney copied to make The Lion King. In
1969 began the anime Sazae-san, which still on the air today with more than
6000 episodes. In 1984, Hayao Miyazaki makes Nausicaä of the Valley of the
Wind, which brought the famous Studio Ghibli.
In America, Warner produce more series about the Looney Tunes, and the
studio Hanna-Barbera makes a lot of the classic series of our childhood like
The Flintstones, Scooby-Doo or Tom and Jerry. And Disney makes Sleeping
Beauty in 1959 and after entering bankruptcy they made 101 Dalmatians
which saved them.
In 1982 they made Tron which become the start of a new age.
The Digital Age brought an amazing technology advance for the animated
industries.
Disney enters in his Dark Age, from 1970 to 1988. In this age they made darker
stories like The Great Mouse Detective. After that, enters in the Renaissance,
where they made her most classic films, like The Little Mermaid, Aladdin,
The Lion King, Mulan or Tarzan. From the 2000's, they made more different
stories like Lilo & Stitch, Treasure Planet or Brother Bear. And from the
2008, with the CGI animation they enter in her actual age, the Revival Era, and
here we can see movies like Tangled, Frozen or Zootopia.
With Disney, Pixar was born in 1995 with Toy Story and still making films to
nowadays like Monsters, Inc., Ratatouille, Cars or Coco.
The anime gains a lot of popularity with Dragon Ball, One Piece, Death Note
or the films of Studio Ghibli like The Mononoke Princess or Spirited Away.
We could talk about more animation studios like Laika and her stop-motion
animation with Coraline, or the adult series of Matt Groening (The Simpsons)
or Seth McFarlane (Family Guy), but the presentation could be endless.
We wish you liked and made you feel nostalgic with our presentation.
