1.0 EARTHWORK EXCAVATION


1.1 General Excavation by mechanical means using excavators,
JCB, Poclains etc., in all types of soil including soft / weathered
rock but excluding hard rock for foundations / basement
excavation; Dispose excavated material offsite by mechanical
means as directed to the approval of Employer. Disposal not
measured seperately. Rate to include for excavation for all leads
& lift, loading, unloading & double handling where required,
necessary equipments, tools & plants, dressing the excavation to
proper level and grade as required, dumping the soil in the
designated area approved by the Authorities, taking necessary
precautions to prevent any spillages or spoiling of the premises /
public roads during removal & transporting the soil, all
consumables including protecting the sides of excavation as per
the the nature of site soil condition and safety of excavation etc
complete, as directed.

Rate shall include cost of excavation of working space as


required, slopes and berms as per site soil condition/nature of the
site soil and safety of excavation. Rate shall also include for
refilling such excavation of working space with approved filling
material including consolidating to the required proctor density,
excavation at all levels and for the following depths below
average existing ground level, including shoring, strutting,
protecting sides from collapses, slush removal, pumping & bailing
out water, de-watering if any so as to keep foundations in dry
condition at any stage of work, drain the water away from the site
through sub drain and connecting into main drain, is deemed
included in the rates:

Note : Excavation will be measured on the basis of the horizontal


area of open mass excavation at the base for RCC raft
foundation / Retaining wall foundation or any other structures to
be built.The actual depth of excavation will be arrived at as the
difference between the spot levels taken at existing ground level
prior to excavation at a spacing of 3m intervals in both directions
and the final bottom level of founding level as per drawings.
Excavation taken by the Contractor for working space as
required, slopes and berms as per site soil condition / nature of
site soil and safety of excavation will not be measured. Quoted
rate shall be deemed to have considered the above stipulations.

1.2 Excavation in hard rock / boulders (more than ½ Cum in size) to
required level for basement excavation, foundations / footings,
pile caps, under ground / water retaining structures etc.at any
depth and at all levels either by manual, by chiseling / wedging or
mechanical means other than blasting (which is prohibited)
including conveying excavated rock at designated area and
stacking for measurement as directed with all leads and lifts,
including shoring, strutting, protecting sides from collapses, slush
removal, etc.complete, as directed.

Rate shall include for disposing the rock by mechanical means as


detailed below including, breaking the rocks to the required size if
required, for easy conveyance, etc complete, as directed.
Note : .Length and breadth at bottom of foundation and depth
from the top of average ground level to the bottom of foundation
only should be excavated and the payment shall be
made.Excavation taken by the Contractor for working space as
required, slopes and berms as per site soil condition / nature of
site soil and safety of excavation will not be measured. Item shall
be measured from stacks of excavated hard rock, reduced by
40% for voids and such quantity arrived at shall only be paid.
Quoted rate shall be deemed to have considered the above

capacity to obtain required proctor density as per relevant

3.0 FORM WORK
Form work for Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC)
3.1 Supplying, fabricating, erecting and fixing in position centering
and shuttering to correct line and levels including
strutting,propping, wtc. With necessary bracings in all axes to
give a stable assembly with provision for making the joints in the
shuttering fully leak proof and with provision for inserts, projecting
dowels, anchor bolts or any other fixture, including staging,
access and working platforms etc all complete as specified and
directed including dismantling and removing the aforesaid
assembly after the concrete attains the sufficient strength to self-
support itself without cracking and distortion, all materials and

4.0 REINFORCEMENT STEEL WORK

4.1 Providing fabricating and fixing reinforcement for RCC work with
high yield strength ribbed cold twisted tor steel of various
diameters and all lengths, including cutting, bending, fabricating,
welding, wastage and placing in position according to drawings
and binding the reinforcement with the use of 16 gauge
galvanised binding wire of double fold and providing precast
cement cover blocks for main reinforcements to ensure specified
cover according to relevant BS code. The measurements will be
in accordance with BS 5950.
Note : Unless noted otherwise the measurements in accordance
with BS 5950 or equivalent BS. However reinforcement shall be
measured only in lengths of bars as actually placed in position on
standard weight basis, no allowance being made in the weight for
rolling margin. Authorised laps and splices only will be measured.
Chairs of any shape & profile, Spacer bar of any shape & profile,
cover block, wastage and binding wire will not be measured and
shall be included in the quoted rates. Quoted rate shall be
deemed to have considered the above stipulations.

4.2 Providing and fixing mechanical treaded Splicing for the higher
dia. bars by a standard sleeve of specially produced steel to join
ribbed bearing bars and treatment as required for system. Cost to
include pressing of sleeve by hydraulic press on to the bar and
slipping of in-si-tu bar to the un pressed end and pressing to
complete the joint. Cost to include testing of joints before usage
of the splice as required by Consultants at intervals

5.0 WATERPROOFING WORKS
Toilets
5.1 a) The application consists of two layer of ACRYLIC MODIFIED /
POLYMER MODIFIED CEMENTITIOUS waterproof coating either
single component or two component over a component of
crystallisation waterproofing coating (500gms/Sqm) after base
preparation of cleaning, brushing and removal of flacky materials,
grouting the porous area with cementations grout,fixing of weep
holes,Grouting of pipe outlets etc and second layer of coating
using the same coating when the first coating is still green. The
coatings shall be applied at intervals and as per the
manufacturers specifications. Cost to include the treatment along
wall up to min 300 mm and no extra measurements shall be
accounted for the wall treatment. (Only Plan area shall be
accounted) Fosroc/Polyplus or equivalent

b) Waterproofing treatment protection shall be in two layers in CM
1:4 of thickness 35mm for floor, 25mm for walls till floor level and
18mm till 300mm above floor level with water proof admixture as
per Manufacturer's specification approved by consultants with a

the mode of measurement

5.2 a) The method consists of application of first layer of ACRYLIC
MODIFIED / POLYMER MODIFIED CEMENTITIOUS waterproof

grouting the porous area with cementations grout,fixing of weep
holes,Grouting of pipe outlets etc and second layer of coating
after fixing theGeo fabric / Fibre glass cloth with proper over
lappings using the same coating when the coating is still green.
The coatings shall be applied at intervals and as per the
manufacturers specifications.

Basement Waterproofing:
5.3 Raft Slab:
Providing waterproofing for Raft Slab by following one or all
methods as per the specifications listed below with a minimum
guarantee period of 10 years and Testing of treatment as per the
requirements. (only plan area shall be accounted)

a) Provided PCC for raft shall be finished smooth to receive water


proofing membrane (only additional workman shall be

b) Supplying, providing and applying water proofing treatment
with Membrane type water proofing methods using polymer
modified Bituminous membrane of approved makes of Atactic
Poly-Propylene (APP-4mm thk) based with UV resistant, ground

high adhesive strength. The membrane shall be reinforced with
non woven polyester reinforcement of minimum of 180 g/sqm and
reinforced including coating with compatible primer of Bituminous
base and torch application with overlap of 100 mm wherever
required. The reinforcement provided shall be able to withstand
the traffic flow density and after construction and shall carry a
minimum guarantee period of 10 years. Cost to include laying by
loose and torching the prefabricated overlap at ends. Approved

5.4 Ground Waterproofing:
Providing waterproofing for Ground Floor Slab by following one or

6.4 Providing Ready mixed reinforced cement concrete of M40 grade
using river sand, 20mm and down size coarse aggregates with
minimum cement content of 400 kg/cum and placing into the
bore by tremie method including compaction of concrete and
withdrawal of casing. The rate shall include cost of approved
ordinary Portland cement of specified grade, including, exposing
and welding of new bars of same dia with butt weld and/or lap
weld as per consultant's specifications.Design mix to be approved
by the consultants, Water cement ratio to be within 0.45, the
slump at pouring point to be maintained 140mm,+/-10mm. The
age of concrete while pouring shoud not exceed 2Hrs.

6.5 Providing and conducting routine load tests to 2.5 times the safe

using a 6 lbs nylon tipped hand held hammer, glueing sensitive

conclusions etc., as per the consultants direction,enclosed

supply and use of 18G black annealed binding wire double fold to
tie the bars in position and providing precast cement / PVC cover
blocks for main reinforcement to ensure specified cover, including

3.0 REINFORCEMENT STEEL WORK

3.1 Providing fabricating and fixing reinforcement for RCC work with
high yield strength ribbed cold twisted tor steel of various
diameters and all lengths, including cutting, bending, fabricating,
welding, wastage and placing in position according to drawings
and binding the reinforcement with the use of 16 gauge
galvanised binding wire of double fold and providing precast
cement cover blocks for main reinforcements to ensure specified
cover according to relevant BS code. The measurements will be
in accordance with BS 5950.
Note : Unless noted otherwise the measurements in accordance
with BS 5950 or equivalent BS. However reinforcement shall be
measured only in lengths of bars as actually placed in position on
standard weight basis, no allowance being made in the weight for
rolling margin. Authorised laps and splices only will be measured.
Chairs of any shape & profile, Spacer bar of any shape & profile,
cover block, wastage and binding wire will not be measured and
shall be included in the quoted rates. Quoted rate shall be
deemed to have considered the above stipulations.

3.2 Providing and fixing mechanical treaded Splicing for the higher
dia. bars by a standard sleeve of specially produced steel to join
ribbed bearing bars and treatment as required for system. Cost to

4.0 STRUCTURAL STEEL WORKS
4.1 Providing, Fabricating, hoisting and erecting in position Mild steel
structural steel works of Grade Yst 250/320 at all elevations, levels
and heights including aligning, levelling, providing and fixing
bolts, nuts, washers, comprising MS angles, channels, joists,
rails, tees, plates, chequered plates, flats, rounds, squares etc.,
of various sizes and other structural steel sections conforming to
latest BS 449 including straightening, cutting, welding, bending
to shape, bolting and inclusive of the following finishes.

i) Sand blasting SSPC - SP10 (Sa 2-1/2)


ii) 2 Coats (each one coat 25 microns DFT) of EPOXY polyamide based
red oxide zinc phosphate primer. 1 coat of Zinc rich primer shall be
aplied after the base coat of red oxide zinc phosphate primer at the
welded joints/welded surfaces, and this application carried out prior to
second coat of Zinch rich primer

iii) 2 Coats (each one coat of 35 microns DFT) of EPOXY polyamide


based enamel finish of approved colour and make.
iv) Final Top Coat of EPOXY based polyurethene paint - Aliphatic
grade for 35 microns DFT of approved colour and make shall be
provided.

5.0 WATERPROOFING WORKS
5.1 Toilets & Balconies

a) The application consists of two layer of ACRYLIC MODIFIED /


POLYMER MODIFIED CEMENTITIOUS waterproof coating either
single component or two component over a component of
crystallisation waterproofing coating (500gms/Sqm) after base
preparation of cleaning, brushing and removal of flacky materials,
grouting the porous area with cementations grout,fixing of weep
holes,Grouting of pipe outlets etc and second layer of coating
using the same coating when the first coating is still green. The
coatings shall be applied at intervals and as per the
manufacturers specifications. Cost to include the treatment along
wall up to min 300 mm and no extra measurements shall be
accounted for the wall treatment. (Only Plan area shall be

5.2 Terrace Water Proofing

Providing waterproofing for Terraces by following one or all


methods as per the specifications listed below with a minimum
guarantee period of 10 years and Testing of treatment as per the
requirements. (only plan area shall be accounted)

a) First layer of cement concrete 1:3:6 over base concrete laid to


falls and slope of minimum 1:100 and finished smooth to receive
water proofing membrane.

b) Supplying, providing and applying water proofing treatment
with Membrane type water proofing methods using polymer
modified Bituminous membrane of approved makes of Atactic
Poly-Propylene (APP-4mm thk) based with UV resistant, ground
chemical resistant, high melting points, flexible and elastic with
high adhesive strength. The membrane shall be reinforced with
non woven polyester reinforcement of minimum of 180 g/sqm and
reinforced including coating with compatible primer of Bituminous
base and torch application with overlap of 100 mm wherever
required. The reinforcement provided shall be able to withstand
the traffic flow density and after construction and shall carry a
minimum guarantee period of 10 years. Cost to include laying by
loose and torching the prefabricated overlap at ends. Approved
