GENERAL OBJECTIVES

 Facilitate school nurse expertise by addressing population health and assessing social
determinants of health that could aid in the protection and promotion of the overall health
of msu-iit students and faculty.
 Advocate for environments that allow school nurses to practice to their full potential and
prioritize school nurse well-being, which results in better student outcomes.
 To help with development of creating Positive health attitudes and practices are
promoted through formal and informal education.
 Identifying health problems and developing and implementing action plans for their
resolution or management.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
DAY 1

 Engage in the collection and use of school health data as school nurses to make
informed decisions through vital sign taking and health education.
 To encourage students and faculty at the College of Computer Science to develop
positive health attitudes and practices.
 To improve my skills in building rapport and dispelling the myth that taking vital signs
outside of a hospital setting is scary.
 Identifying problem areas in the university, particularly in the CCS environment, and
assisting in the implementation of corrective measures.
DAY 2

 Provide a better approach to health education in order to maintain the best possible level
of health in all aspects.
 To increase students' and faculty's awareness of available health-related resources near
msu-iit and to assist them in becoming informed health consumers.
 To desensitize any forms of stigma associated with a specific disease and to assist
students and faculty in learning more about how to create a better environment.
DAY 3

 Continue to collect and use school health data as school nurses in order to make
informed decisions through vital sign taking and health education.
 Continue to provide health education in order to maintain the best possible overall
health.
 Continue to hone my rapport-building skills and dispel the myth that taking vital signs
outside of a hospital setting is frightening.
 Continue to raise student and faculty awareness of nearby health-related resources and
assist them in becoming informed health consumers.
