Give five basic concepts that you have learned from the video on the qualities of a great teacher. (25
points)

As I have watched the video, I heve realized that there are really qualities that make a good
teacher to be great. The first thing that I have been amazed about on what the speaker said is that
teachers could be a great teacher if they have good relationship with his/her students. I totally agree
with this, because personally I have observed that teachers who lend their ears to their students and
also gave them advices, makes students inspired and motivated with learning.

Secondly, I am also amazed with his quote that "A great teacher, isn't a teacher". I reconciled
with it since I have also experience those, sometimes we are the teacher of our own. If children make
mistakes through their experiences, they tend to learn from it and they will try new ways to learn more
and improve themselves. "A great teacher loves to learn", this quote is interesting for me because we
usually see teachers teaching and not learning. We are used to asked them any questions, and they will
answer those. But teacher are not like google, there are times wherein they could not answer some
questions. But as a student it will not be some sort of shame if they don't know a certain concept,
instead students might encouraged them because together with their teacher they will be able to
recognize the things they don't understand.

"A great teacher understands that there is life out of school". Teachers must understand that
some students have problems at home which sometimes resulted them to be left out or to be rejected
in school. And teachers should not pressured them for doing tons of school works and they should try to
listen to them. "A great teacher helps a student if they notice a struggle", teachers must not spoon-feed
students of the leaerning, instead they wait students to try exerting efforts. Teachers must be aware
that they are obliged to assist students if they struggle after exerting an effort. But for me students learn
as they struggle, the reason why teachers should assist their students when they encounter difficulties.

Indeed, what I have seen in the video is a way of reflecting that teachers has a lot of duties. It
takes a lot of responsibility to become a great teacher. However, if we truly desire to teach, we should
really consider our students, they will always matter because they are part of a teacher’s profession.
