As part of our ongoing commitment to
meet the changing requirements of your
operating assets, Siemens is continually
developing new technology to help you
enhance your operating plant reliability
and performance.
To help enhance the generating
capacity or reduce operating costs of
your operating plant, Siemens offers a
Compressor Performance Upgrade for
your SGT6-5000F and W501F turbine. The
Compressor Performance Upgrade can
increase plant power or heat rate without
increasing the firing temperature of your
gas turbine.
The Compressor Performance Upgrade is
one of many innovative upgrade packages
available. The scope of this modernization
includes:
n Enhanced compressor sealing design
Enhanced design of row 16 blades
n
Engine mass flow and temperature
n
optimization.
This upgrade is applicable to all
SGT6-5000F and W501F frames with
package variations specific to the frame
model.

Customer benefits
The Compressor Performance Upgrade can
be a cost-effective means for improving
the performance and, in turn, the
bottom line of your gas turbine plant.
The Compressor Performance Upgrade
may be adjusted at tuning for plant
power or plant heat rate.
Benefits can include:
Based on the combined cycle - 2x1 501FD2
reference plant model at base load ISO
conditions
n Improved heat rate of up to
1 percent, which can reduce your
fuel consumption
Increased plant power of up to
n
3 percent, which can increase your plant
revenue through a capacity increase.
Based on the simple cycle - 1x0 501FD2
reference plant model at base load ISO
conditions
Improved heat rate of up to
n

1 percent, which can reduce your
fuel consumption
n Increased plant power of up
to 4 percent, which can increase your
plant revenue through a capacity increase.
We recommend a 6- to 10-day dedicated
outage or a major outage. A 45-week lead
time is necessary. We offer a full range
of field service capabilities to help you
manage your maintenance and outage
schedules.
