MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM The prostate gland surrounds the

initial urethra just below the bladder.


It secretes a fluid that constitutes
around 25% of the volume of the
semen along with spermatozoa and
1 seminal vesicle fluid.

The seminal vesicles join


the vas deferens just
behind the bladder. They
2 produce a fluid that

provides sperm with a
source of energy to help
them move. This fluid
makes up about 70% of
the volume of the
ejaculate.

The Cowper’s glands are located


below the prostate gland. They
contribute about 5% of the ejaculate.
The secretion is a clear fluid that
helps to lubricate the distal urethra
before the ejaculation
