REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES
The home environment is a critical factor in inspiring students and helping them to
succeed academically. This review of related literature dives into the various home
elements that can make a huge difference in a student's motivation towards their
studies.
Willems & Holbein, 2018). When parents engage in their children's education – such as
with assignments – students are more likely to feel encouraged and driven to do well
a student's educational experience (Sirin, 2005). Families with a higher income can offer
more learning enrichment activities and access to essential resources like books or
digital devices, which can lend a powerful boost to motivation (Bradley & Corwyn,
2021).
Home Literacy Environment: Research has shown that the presence of and exposure to
reading materials in the home can have a positive effect on the development of
9
students' literacy capabilities and their enthusiasm for reading (Son & Morrison, 2020).
A rich home literacy environment can help to spark a student's interest in learning

METHODOLOGY
The researchers used a qualitative -methods approach to collect and analyze data. The
study involved a sample of studens from different socioeconomic backgrounds and
academic levels. The researchers used questionnaires to collect data on students'
home environment, motivation, and academic performance. The data collected were
analyzed using statistical techniques.

The text makes the results meaningful by pointing out the most important
results, simplifying the results (e.g., "nearly half" instead of "48.9%"), and
highlighting significant trends or relationships.
DISCUSSION SECTION
- findings of the study indicate that there is a significant correlation between home
environment and students' motivation and academic performance. Students who
come from supportive and conducive home environments tend to be more
motivated and perform better academically than those who come from less
supportive and less conducive home environments. The study also found that
parental involvement, parental expectations, and home resources were
significant predictors of students' motivation and academic performance.
- The study underscores the importance of a supportive and conducive home
environment in fostering students' motivation and academic success. Parents
and caregivers have a critical role to play in creating a home environment that
supports their children's academic aspirations. The findings of this study can
inform policies and programs aimed at improving students' motivation and
academic performance by addressing the factors that contribute to a supportive
and conducive home environment.

CHAPTER V
SUMMARY, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The home environment plays a crucial role in shaping student motivation and
academic performance. Research has consistently demonstrated that a positive
and supportive home environment can have a significant impact on student
success.

can provide a sense of safety and support, which can positively impact student
success. This includes providing a consistent routine, a safe and comfortable
living space, and a predictable family structure.
Overall, the research indicates that the home environment has a significant impact on
student motivation and academic performance. Creating a positive and supportive home
environment that fosters strong family relationships, provides access to educational
resources, promotes stability and security, and encourages community involvement can
help students achieve their full potential.
