Strand 4: Changes Made

1. Canceling The Rooftop Idea:

I have withdrawn the idea of adding small structured rooftops on top
of the right and left compartments for the average and tallest building
of the product, which I have planned to manufacture in its pieces (x4) in
Criteria B. I have done this due to how complicated it was to design on
the software Onshape, as this portion of the product requires lots of
attention to detail, and good perception to determine the exact value
measurement. I have also realized how useless it is to include the
rooftops to cover the compartments, as it would add unnecessary
weight and complexity to the product.

Sure, it protects tea bags from heat, humidity, and other

conditional factors, but there is a big gap on the side of one
of the compartments (the tallest building to the left), so the
rooftop is purposeless. Even if I only added a rooftop to the
shorter building, it would only show inconsistency because
not every compartment of the product has one. Therefore, I
made the change, suggesting that I remove both of the
rooftops completely from the design to maintain uniformity
and coherence in the product's overall appearance. And even
so, I had to focus on improving the overall functionality and
e ciency of the compartments.

I have added a covering lid (which has the

same concept as the rooftop but because the
compartments were structured di erently, the
covering rooftops/Lids should be structured
di erently as well) even though it shows
inconsistency because the covering lid is not
present in all compartments, and I wanted the
product to serve its purpose in some way, so
the only option I had was to add a rectangular
nger joint from either side (front and back).

2. Painting Covering Lid Green:

After testing and making sure that the tiger joints of the
covering lid are in the middle t on top of the shortcut
compartment, I decided to paint the part of it
completely light green, and this was not planned
initially. This might contribute to the inconsistency of
the product, but the reason why I made this change is
that I wanted to add a unique touch to the design and

make it stand out. Additionally, I considered
making a piece match the color of the leaf
that is on top of the middle compartment's
arched opening,  to create a cohesive and
natural look. This added feature not only
enhances the aesthetic appeal of the
product but also re ects my product's
commitment to protecting the tea bags,
sustainability, and eco-friendliness by
incorporating natural elements into the
design.

3. The Placement of The Leaf’s Drawing and Limiting it to One Only:

There was supposed to be a left-right under the tip of the

top part of each of the compartment buildings (according
to the Design Ideas fro Criteria B, to represent a leaf, but I
decided to limit it to just one leaf drawing to avoid
overcrowding and maintain a clean look, there also was
barely any space on top of the letters to add a leaf (not to
mention how the product turned out to be a little smaller
than I expected after laser cutting).

However, I  also decided to still give the product a

natural element to it, therefore I added a small leaf right
above the arched opening of the shortest compartment
in the middle. This added a touch of uniqueness to the
product and made it stand out.
