2739121 - SUM upgrade error "DB Version out of range (too low)"

Symptom
You're upgrading SAP using SUM and the following error is reported in phase PREP_INPUT/CONFCHK_IMP during OS and
Database Version Checks:

SUM-Phase: PREP_INPUT/CONFCHK_IMP
ERROR: DB Version 10-.05.0006 out of range (too low) Upgrade the database system at least to version 10.05.0006.
INFO: Please note that this check may be preliminary since the tool has not yet collected enough information
about the target. So the requested version might eventually be higher.
Determined system information:
Type of operating system: AIX
Version of operating system: 7.1

Environment
Netweaver AS ABAP
Db2 LUW (DB6)
SUM

Cause
Database version/fixpack does not satisfy the SUM upgrade prerequisites check.

Resolution
Reference the following SAP notes to ensure your Db2 database version is sufficient for all of the support packages being
upgraded.

If your Db2 database does not meet the release requirement of the SUM upgrade then a Db2 database full version and/or
fixpack upgrade is needed before you can proceed with the SUM upgrade.  The upgrade of the database can be run prior to the
upgrade of the SAP system so that the SAP upgrade will see the required version.  This should be a temporary state only,
though as certain functions may not work properly until both the DB2 requirements and SAP system requirements are again
met.
