I found out that Abraham Lincoln’s killer was John Wilkes Booth. He and his accomplices made a
plan to kidnap the American president but their plan failed. So, John Wilkes Booth and his little
gang decide to kill the President, the Vice President, and the Secretary of State in one night.
Although he succeeded in killing the President he failed to kill the Vice President and the Secretary.

The most interesting fact or information…

John Wilkes Booth was originally an actor. Booth did not do the whole process by himself. He asked
some people like Lewis Powell, George Aterzodt and David Herold. The only person to stay with
Booth throughout the entire escape was David Herold.

New words and concepts

● Scourge - A thing that causes a tremendous amount of suffering and pain

● Sockdologizing - The line used by (as a cue) John Wilkes Booth to time the assassination
● Semper - Latin for “Always”
● Conspirator - A person who takes part in a secret plot to cause harm
● Fervently - With strong emotion or zeal
● Malice - The desire to see others suffer

I would recommend this book to young people and novices of the Lincoln assassination.
