Meghalaya is a state in
northeastern India. Meghalaya
was formed on 21 January
1972 by carving out two
districts from the state of
Assam: the United Khasi Hills
Found around the house! and Jaintia Hills and the Garo
Hills.
Location
Located in North-east India,
Meghalaya, also known as the
Abode of Clouds, falls in one of the
richest biodiversity areas in the
world. The famed monsoons, the
rich traditional festivals, and the
dramatic terrain are just some of
the many things this state is
famous for
Handicraft
● Weaving.
● Woodcarving.
● Bamboo work.
● Cane Mat.
● Stools.
● Baskets.
● Open weave carrying baskets.
● Closed weave carrying baskets
Nohkalikai Falls, Umiam Lake,
Mawlynnong Village, Living Root
Bridges, Laitlum Canyon, Dawki
Places to Visit River, Cherrapunji, Mawsynram,
Elephant Falls, Mawphlang Sacred
Forest, Seven Sisters Falls, and
many other beautiful places are
there to visit in meghalaya.
The Living Root bridges seen
throughout the East Khasi Hills
of Meghalaya embody the
self-sufficiency of the Khasi
tribes and their relationship
with forests. The structure of
the bridge is entirely made from
tree branches, trunks, and roots.
