Crewmate… or Imposter?

Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Difficulty: ​Easy-ish Special Stitches:


Finished Size: ​12″ tall
Hook: ​J (6.00mm) Invisible Decrease

Yarn: Insert your hook into the front loop of the first stitch, then
Worsted Weight - Two Strands Held Together into the front loop of the next stitch. Pull up a loop
Color A - The Color of your Crewmate (through the first 2 loops on your hook). Yarn over and
Color B - Light Blue (or Gray) pull through both loops on your hook.
Color C - Black

Abbreviations Used:
MC (magic circle/magic ring) This pattern is written in American Standard Terms.
ST/STS (stitch/stitches) Increases & decreases are written to be staggered,
CH (chain) instead of having them stack directly on top of each

INSTRUCTIONS

All rounds will be worked in a continuous spiral (unless otherwise noted).

Left Leg

With Two Strands of Color A

R1: 6 sc into a MC. (6)


R2: 2sc into each st. (12)
R3: *sc in first st, 2 sc in next st.* repeat around. (18)
R4: *2 sc in first st, sc in next 2 sts.* repeat around (24)
R5: sc in BLO around. (24)
R6-R11: sc around. (24)

Fasten off and weave/tuck in ends.

Right Leg

With Two Strands of Color A

Repeat rounds 1 through 11 of the left leg. DO NOT FASTEN OFF.

Chain 3. Single crochet to any stitch on your LEFT leg. ​Figure 1

Begin stuffing your body & continue to stuff as you go.

Visor

With 2 Strands of Color B

R1: (working in the TOP loop of your chain) sc in 2nd st from hook and in next 6 sts, 4 sc in the last st (rotate your work
upside down to continue working in the BOTTOM loops of your chain) sc in next 6 sts, 3 sc in last st. (20)
R2: inc in first st; sc in the next 6 sts; inc in the next 4 sts; sc in the next 6 sts, inc in the last 3 sts. (28)
R3: sc in first st; inc in the next st; sc in next ​6 ​sts; [sc, inc] 4 times; sc in the next ​6​ sts; [sc, inc] 3 times. (36)
R4: inc in first st; sc in next ​8​ sts; [inc, sc, sc] 4 times; sc in the next ​6​ sts; [inc, sc, sc] 3 times. (44)
R5: sc in first 4 sts; dec; sc in next 4 sts; dec; sc in next 14 sts, dec, sc in next 4 sts, dec, sc in last 10 sts. (40)
R6: sc around. (40)

Change to Color C (2 strands). Fasten off color B.

R7: sl st in BLO around. (40)

Fasten off. Leave a long tail for sewing.

Backpack

Three options are included. Option 1 will leave your backpack pocket open on top. Option 2 will give your backpack a
button-close flap. Option 3 will have you repeat the base rounds of the backpack, and sew it to the top to create a fully
closed pack (no pocket). All three backpack options follow the same instructions through round 13.

With 2 Strands of Color A

Chain 16
R1: (working in the TOP loop of your chain) sc in 2nd st from hook and in next 13 sts, 3 sc in the last st (rotate your work
upside down to continue working in the BOTTOM loops of your chain) sc in next 13 sts, 2 sc in last st. Sl st to first sc. (32)
R2: ch 1. inc in first st; sc in the next 13 sts; inc, sc, inc; sc in the next 13 sts, inc, sc, inc. sl st to first sc. (36)
R3: ch 1. (in BLO) sc around. sl st to first sc. (36)
R4-R13: ch 1. sc around. sl st to first sc. (36)

Option 1
Fasten off. Leave a long tail for sewing.

Option 2
Chain 1
R14: sc across 17 sts. ch 1 & turn. (17)
R15-R20: sc around. ch 1 & turn. (17)
R21: sc in first 7 sts; ch 3 & skip 3 sts; sc in last 7 sts. (17)
Fasten ff & reattach your yarn to the side of the first stitch of row 14. Single crochet up the side of the flap, working 1 sc
into the side of each row. Place 2 sc into the corner, then sc across the top of the flap (work 3 sc into your ch 3 space).
Place another 2 sc into the next corner, and sc down the other side of the flap. Fasten off. Leave a long tail for sewing.
Close flap and mark where you want your button. Sew into place.

Option 3
Fasten off & weave in ends. Create a top cover by following rounds 1 & 2 again. Fasten off. Leave a long tail for sewing.
Stuff your backpack and line up your cover piece with your backpack. Whip stitch the cover onto your backpack. Use the
remaining tail to sew your completed backpack onto your crewmate’s body.
Assembly

Attach your Crewmate’s Backpack to the back of his body, between rounds 17 and 29.
The Visor will attach to the front of your Crewmate’s body, between rounds 25 and 34. Lightly stuff as you sew it on.
With a small amount of white yarn, embroider a highlight onto the visor, by sewing a long stitch between rounds 2 and 3
(see photos for placement suggestion). Fasten off & weave in all ends.
