Software Architecture
Initialization
1 In this function controller basic parameters like clock configuration, WDT, Port setting,
UART, I2C, SPI, RMII etc. are initialized. Along with these parameters Ethernet stack,
File system, TCPIP stack and MQTT stack, transceiver stack also initialized
Read Configuration from SD card

2 After boot up microcontroller will read the configurations from SD card. According to
configuration file it will initialize the internal data structure.
Read Data from Wireless Node (Flow Meter)

Once the configuration files from SD card are read then it will start reading (sampling)
3 data from Flow Meter. The sample rate is decided by the configuration setting. After
successfully reading data from Flow Meter, the data is stored in local SD card and flag is
set so that data are to be ready for uploading on server.

Register the sensors
Once configuration is read from SD card, microcontroller will get the server setting
4 information (server URL, Keys), sensor information (sensor keys, protocol parameters).
So it will register sensors to the server.
Subscribe instruction topic for each sensor

5 After registering sensor, instructions topic for each sensor is subscribed. These are used
to cut-off and enable the Flow of meter from sensors.

If MQTT stack is in idle state (not registering and sending data to server) then the

8 If any instructions are received from server then call-back function will executed. In this function the

LCD task function is periodically polled after every 1 sec. So that LCD messages are displayed on
LCD after every 1 sec.
MQTT Keep alive packet

10 MQTT keep alive packet is send to server after every 20 sec. So that socket will not close if any data is not

Can use his credit card / debit card / net banking account to pay his bills.
Will receive an SMS and an e-mail confirmation of the Payment and

also will receive an e-receipt for the payment made.
Payment can also be done via the Web Portal or Mobile
Will receive notification on their mobile app about payment received

and also will receive payment receipt on registered email address.
Can see his historical billing and consumption pattern for a period
of 3/6/12 months.

Maintenance and Automatic Firmware updates
for DCU AMR-600
DCU AMR-600 has a daily Real time clock (RTC) and can upgrade its
firmware automatically without any manual intervention.
