ESSAY

Currently, most educational institutions give us the option to study however we

feel comfortable, either in a traditional way or virtually/remotely. In fact, I have
had the opportunity to study both ways and, of course, I prefer to study as I used
to study at school before. The most of students and parents prefer traditional
classes. Both have advantages and disadvantages, but now we know that both
modalities can be easily adapted to a student's life.

Recently, virtual classes came into our lives unexpectedly and we have
learned about them. Usually, students take the class from their homes
via Internet. Some of them said they had saved money on the bus ticket and had
time flexibility. Also, you have the facility to see the recorded classes wherever
and whenever you want. The main difference between these two modalities is the
social part. In a face-to-face class you physically interact with people while in
virtuality you only do it through a screen. Socializing with teachers and students is
a bit more complicated in virtual reality. In contrast, there are many tools such as
videos where students can express their opinion.

On the other hand, we have face-to-face classes that are the most traditional way
of learning. This modality is characterized by having aspecific and organized
schedule where students attend a classroom and have constant physical interaction
with their classmates and with the teacher. During the pandemic, I remember that
my classmates told me they wanted to have face-to-face classes again. It was
because they missed seeing and having contact with their friends and being able to
do activities like going out to see museums, parks or cities.

However, we are not in a debate about which is better and which is worse since
both modalities have shown that they are currently effective and that they adapt
to the needs of students. Some students find virtuality easy, and others would
prefer interaction beyond as creen. So, it will depend on the students which
modality can enhance their learning. It’s your choice.
