D6 and D6 XE TRACK-TYPE TRACTOR

UNDERCARRIAGE INTRODUCTION

In January 2019, Caterpillar started production of the new D6 and D6 XE Track-Type

Tractors, replacing the D6T STD, XL, XW and LGP configurations. The D6 has a
conventional powertrain with lock-up clutch, and the D6 XE has an electric drive
powertrain. The new models utilize new undercarriage and blade configurations to
deliver optimized machine balance, grading and productivity.

This IRM details the new D6 and D6 XE undercarriage configurations and part numbers.

The new machines can be ordered with either Heavy Duty Extended Life (HDXL) or
SystemOne Undercarriage. Later in 2019, the SystemOne track cartridge sealing
system will have a major design improvement put into production. At that time,
SystemOne will be rebranded to Cat® Abrasion.
