This quick reference lists the commands and special WHAT TO DO IF YOU DICTATE TEXT
dictation words you can say while using Dragon BUT IT IS INTERPRETED AS A COMMAND

WHY DO SOME COMMANDS HAVE ASTERISKS (*)?
While Dragon NaturallySpeaking lets you talk into and Controlling the Microphone

HOW TO READ COMMANDS PRESENTED Move to/Go to/Click Next Tab
IN TABLES OR WITH SLASHES Move to/Go to/Click Previous Tab
Many commands are formed by combining words from Switch to Next Window
groups displayed in tables or separated by slashes. To Switch to Previous Window
form a command, say a word from each group without Switch to <application or document name>
pausing between words. For example, “Select Next/ Switch to NaturallySpeaking
Forward/Previous/Back Word/Character” means you can Mouse Up/Left/Down/Right 1–10
say commands such as “Select Next Word” or “Select Mouse Up/Left/Down/Right 1–10 Click/Double Click/
Previous Character”. Left Click/Right Click/Mark/Drag
WHAT TO DO IF YOU SAY A COMMAND
BUT IT IS TYPED AS DICTATION
Remember that you must pause before you say most
commands. If, however, you pause and say a command
and Dragon NaturallySpeaking still types your command
as dictation, you can force command recognition by
holding down the Ctrl key while you speak.

Dictating Punctuation Entering Keystrokes
and Special Characters Say the following commands to enter any key or key combination
Say the following words to enter punctuation marks and special on the keyboard by voice:
