WHAT WILL WE LEARN?
➢ Students will study North Carolina and United States History. The standards and objectives in the
eighth-grade will allow students to extend the foundational skills, concepts, processes, and knowledge
gained in grades K-5 and prepare students to be college, career, and civic ready. MY GOAL IS TO
EDUCATE ON CITIZENSHIP/TO PREPARE CITIZENS WHO CAN THINK CRITICALLY.

WHAT SUPPLIES WILL BE NEEDED?


❑ Two sharpened No. 2 pencils (OR mechanical) every class period
❑ Handheld Pencil sharpener
❑ White loose leaf paper separated by divider in S.S. section of 3 ring binder
❑ Sheet Protectors
❑ Marble composition book/journal
❑ Index cards
❑ Colored drawing pencils/crayons/markers

HOW SHOULD PAPERS BE COMPLETED?


❑ Use pencil, blue/black pen, computer/word processor or typewriter
❑ Use worksheet, white loose leaf or typing paper
❑ Put complete heading i.e. full name, subject, period, date in upper right hand corner of all paper
❑ Read and follow all directions in book or on worksheet unless instructed otherwise
❑ Always use complete sentences and restate important parts of the question in your answer
❑ Keep all assignments on rings of binder and/or sheet protectors with most current work first
❑ DO NOT KEEP LOOSE PAPERS IN BINDER, BOOKBAG, DESK OR TEXTBOOKS
❑ DO NOT THROW AWAY ANY PAPERS WITHOUT PERMISSION

WHAT IS A CLASSWORK/HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT?


❑ Includes all/only classwork assignments and notes requested
❑ Includes all/only written homework assignments requested
❑ Includes some quizzes done during a unit or chapter
❑ Is the most important grade because it is work done daily
❑ GUARDIANS, PLEASE SIGN/QUERY ALL CLASSWORK / HOMEWORK IN AGENDA DAILY
