INTRODUCTION
We know that history is very important for rational and critical knowledge, that is why
this present essay explains one of the periods of British literature and the most
outstanding and important writers who marked history with their works and
contributions to their British culture, The 18th Century, Jonathan Swift, Daniel Defoe,
Etc., The Era of Realism and Romanticism, S Coleridge, Walter Scott, Bronte Sisters,
Charles Dickens.
DEVELOPMENT
JHONATHAN SWIFT (1667-1745), He was an Anglo-Irish writer, who was one of the
most celebrated and scathing critics of his day, is remembered for his teacher
"Gulliver's Travels" (1726), which is imaginative and pessimistic satire of society that
became, curiously, a success of children's literature.
DANIEL DEFOE English journalist and writer of the 17th century, author of the
classic Robinson Crusoe. Defoe is important for being one of the first cultivators of
the novel, a literary genre that became popular in England and also he received the
title of father of all English novelists. Defoe is considered a pioneer of the economic
press.
BRONTE SISTERS
The Bronte sisters were 19th century role models, as they subverted social
conventions by becoming writers. Their education granted them the ability to write
some of the most well-known novels of all time, and they serve as a historic example
of the power of equal education. Charlotte is most known for writing "Jane Eyre" and
Emily for "Wuthering Heights". Bronte.
CHARLES DICKENS.
Charles Dickens is considered the greatest English novelist of the Victorian era, the
range, compassion, and intelligence of his view of society and its shortcomings
enriched his novels and made him one of the great forces in 19th-century literature.
In 1833 he began contributing stories and descriptive essays to magazines and
newspapers; this attracted attention and were reprinted as Sketches by “Boz”
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, during the 18th century many events occurred that marked history,
there were many technological advances that in a certain way changed the way
people lived, likewise all these events were part of the literature, since important
authors were based on their reality to create their texts, I also believe that this period
called The Era Of Realism And Romanticism is important, because in this way we
look at the deficiencies of said movements, also taking into account the feelings and
reactions of those who lived through these periods of time.
