How to Install and Access in Photoshop Elements 11 and Up

Installing MCP’s actions into versions of Elements starting with 11 is quite simple.

These instructions apply to Elements 11 and later regardless of operating system.

However, if you have a version of Elements prior to version 11, please look for the instructions specific to your
version of Elements and your operating system. You will find these instructions in a PDF in the “How to Install
Actions in Elements” folder that came with your action download.

To install actions into Photoshop Elements, start by downloading the action folder from MCP Actions. This
download will be a zipped folder. If it doesn’t unzip automatically, unzip it by right clicking and selecting “unzip”
or “extract” or something similar.

Save the unzipped contents of this folder in an area of your computer that you normally backup, like “My
Documents.” This way, you will have a backup copy of the actions to install in case your computer crashes or
when you upgrade to the next version of Elements.

Now, open Elements and go to the Expert mode by clicking on the word “Expert” at the top of your workspace.
Display the Actions panel, if it’s not already, by going to the Window menu and selecting Actions.
Next, locate the Actions Panel and click on the small icon at the top right corner that has 3 horizontal lines and a
small drop down arrow. Then, select Load Actions from the menu that opens.

Navigate to the folder where you saved your action files, and open the PSE 11 and up folder inside. Click on the
file that ends in ATN to select it, then press Open.
Your action is now loaded. To complete the installation process, close Elements and reopen it.

To access your new action, return to the Actions Panel. Look for the action folder, and open the folder to display
the actions. Click on the action you’d like to run, then press the Play triangle at the top of the Actions Panel.
