1. Write down the rate expression for the following reaction


a) 2C3H8 (g) + 10O2 (g) ⇌ 6CO2 (g) + 8H2O (g)
b) C2H4 (g) + 3O2 (g) ⇌ 2CO2 (g) + 2H2O (l)
c) 6H+ (aq) + 2MnO- (aq) + 5H2O2 (l) ⇌ 2Mn2+ (aq) + 5O2 (g) + 8H2O (l)

a. Based on the rate expression in 1(a), how fast oxygen is decreasing if the
concentration of carbon dioxide is increasing at rate of 3. 55 x 10-2 M/s?
b. Based on the rate expression in 1(c), determine the rate of Mn2+ if the concentration
of H+ react at rate 1.763 x 10-3 mol/L.s.
c. Consider the following reaction: F2(g) + 2ClO2 (g) → 2FClO2 (g).
What is the rate of change in concentration of ClO2 id the concentration of F2 is
changing at a rate of 0.041 M/s?

i. Calculate the half-life for the reaction.
ii. How long it takes to decrease the concentration of J to 5.0 x 10-3 M?
