Food Safety Policy

Ruby AK General Suppliers lodge is a legally registered hospitality and Catering


company based on the copper belt province of Zambia in Chingola town.Within
Chingola Town, Ruby AK General Suppliers lodge has accommodation facilities with
kitchen bar & Restaurant for the general Public.Ruby AK General Suppliers also
provides food and beverages to Mimbula mine.
At Ruby AK General Suppliers company ,Our mission is “To continually provide Safe
,Nutritious and wholesome meals and services to our clients through a well
managed, healthy and productive labour force.

We Believe that food safety is key to our customers and stakeholders, so we make
sure to follow all the basic Food Safety Requirement and Food Safety Statutory
Requirements. Ruby AK General Suppliers Management Team is committed and
dedicated to ensuring that all the basic Food Safety & Hygiene , Good
Manufacturing Practices and applicable statutory requirements are met and
adhered to at all costs by involving every employee and relevant stake holders to
support this policy

We assure the quality and safety of our products and services by strictly
following and adhering to the Food and Drug Act Chapter 303 of the Laws of
Zambia,The Public Health Act Chapter 295 of the laws of Zambia, and other
relevant international food safety management standard requirement e.g ISO
22000:2018.

Based on these requirements Ruby AK General Suppliers Company has developed


this policy to ensure the production of safe wholesome food for its clients by
working towards achieving the following broad objectives and targets :
 Conforming to both statutory and regulatory requirements for quality and
food safety, including mutually agreed customer ( Contractual)
requirements related to quality and food safety.
 Setting annual Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic measurable
quality and food safety objectives for all operations to ensure continuous
improvement and compliance with relevant standards.
 Conducting risk assessment and effecting controls and monitoring
techniques that are aligned with the context in which we operate, to
facilitate our ability to realize our food Safety objectives and growth.
 Periodic reviewing our quality and food safety policies, standards, and
procedures to effectively manage food safety risks associated with changes
in products, processes, technologies and statutory requirements.
 Ensuring all food handlers undergo periodic food handlers medical
examinations from approved medical service provider preferably a
government health Facility and only those medically declared fit to handle
food for public consumption are allowed to handle, prepare or serve food.
 Exclude any staff that may present signs and symptoms of communicable
disease.
 Providing employees with the information, training, and tools necessary to
do their job in a safe, hygienic, and compliant manner, and achieving quality
and safe products that maintain customer satisfaction.
 Only sourcing food products that are of good quality and wholes
 Implementing an integrated pest management system for the eradication of
pests, vectors and rodents in food preparation and associated areas.
 Effectively managing all waste generated in line with the waste
management hierarchy as well as statutory/client/company requirements.
 Ensure that no food Safety Incidents occur arising from the food and
service we serve and provide respectively to our client and in the unlikely
event that such an incident happens, an Investigating has to be instituted
Food Safety Policy
with 24 hrs and ensure that appropriate corrective and preventive measures
to prevent recurrence.
 Ruby AK General Suppliers is commited and ensure that all necessary
resources are available for the operation and effective food Safety
Management.
